The title says it all. trickortreatstudios.com has just put their h1 up for preorder. However, it wont ship until august, which if you know me, you know that i am very unpatient. So looks like i wont be preordering it.
I don’t think it’s actually that accurate to the original Kirk mask, but I’m absolutely in love with that mean sculpt. The more I look at it, the more it grows on me as a very general idea of The Shape. I think I love it so much because it’s closest to what comes to mind whenever I think “Michael Myers” or “The Shape” more so then it being super 100% accurate to the original film. Even if the paint apps aren’t stunning, this’ll make a MEAN base for retool or rehauling, which I’m completely fine with.
Looks good to me, it is meant to look like the idea of what you see in the film, not necessarily a Kirk. They sell a Kirk, you can get one and convert it for true accuracy. This to me looks like what I see in the film, especially the phone scene and the scene upstairs with Laurie. That’s what Justin was going for with this look, and I think it captures it well.
Your not going to please everyone, especially these days where people have just about everything under the sun to dig up and complain about. My preorder is in, now for the horrendous 8 month wait! Lol
The mask looks beautiful. Might I suggest, not pre ordering it. But waiting, and get one from a mask/Halloween store, so you can get a great copy in person. This will save a lot of frustration imo.
If pre orders are shipping that late in the season that is probably going to be the best bet. (especially after the h40 mess where stores got coppies before people who pre ordered) Im still really on the fence about getting this as well. for me i really want to see it in person before i actually pick one up.
I have to say i think its a great “Michael Myers” mask but not very H1 accurate. I agree with with Mr.Conal Cochran about it being what he views as the shape. the sculpt has a menacing look to it. i also really get a clean h40 feel out of looking at it and especially when flipping between it and pictures of the H40
I’m not interested in pre ordering the mask unfortunately, I just don’t see the shape in that sculpt. I am however interested in snagging a pair of those H1 coveralls. Anyone know if those are up for pre order?
Now you might not be far off there my friend. I was just going back and forth between the two masks myself, and oddly enough, they are strikingly similar. I know this was a ground up sculpt from Justin, but he also did the H18 clean from the ground up himself. Hmm, interesting…
Chris Zephro said on Facebook that Halloween stores have not purchased any copies (specifically Spirit Halloween) so don’t expect to find this one in stores…
And please. If Justin was selling this mask independently for $400 you guys would be shitting yourselves for it lol
Definitely would not be shitting for this if it was 400$. I think its a great mask for 60$ and gives every day fans an awesome h1. Like i said this has a really menacing look and has a great Michael feel but is just not close to screen accurate from what i have seen so far. I will say this though that i do like this better than some other cheaper Myers mask sculpts.
Truth! I mean, let’s face it. Justin’s latest mask, his Thrasher mask, holds about as much resemblance to the Hero as this one does and people handed over a lot of good money for one of those masks. Sure it’s not as popular as his Creep, but then again it’s not publically sold like the Creep is. You actually have to email Justin for it. Justin’s masks are more stylized, they always have been going as far back as masks like the Evilution and the Butcher. Personally, I’m hoping Justin will lets some higher quality pulls out on the side. I’d love to have one of these with a good quality paint up.
But then again putting down $60 then having one of these repainted ain’t a bad deal, either.
