Various coverall brands sizing

I was thinking it would be a nice idea to list popular coveralls we sometimes talk about on this forum. I’ve heard that Roebucks run quite large and Red Kap small, does that sound accurate? I could do with a pair that have a longer torso and shorter legs. I only have this one pair of Roebucks that are 42 TALL, which is weird because I usually hear you guys wearing Short. And the woman whom I bought my pair from said that the legs may have been shortened.

So what about the difference in size between the Big Macs, Red Kaps and Reeds compared to the Roebucks etc?

So does anyone of you know if they differ in measurement from each other? C’mon!

I have a pair of XL Dicks, and they’re tight around the chest and loose everywhere else.

Thanks for the info! Anything’s appreciated. Thanks!

I cant speak of Roebucks cuz I havent been lucky enough to score a pair, but I know my red kaps I have to order 2 sizes bigger

Ah, so I wasn’t wrong about the Red kaps! They run small, that’s what I thought. Thanks man!

They do? Good thing I order a little larger than my size.

i own a pair of Reeds and they fit true to size.

That’s definitely good to know. Thanks man! Because I’m actually also thinking about purchasing a pair of those cheaper Reeds to have shorter legs for an H2 look! It would be nice if some more folks who owns several brands coveralls could chim in and share.

Il have too agree as well. :drinkers:

Yeah my chest size when I measured was 44 red kaps so I ordered 46, had to return em for 48. Made in mexico but indeed do run small. You may go larger if you wear clothes under.

My Big Mac Coveralls 42R fit perfectly like a charm :sunglasses:

Okay, Red Kaps - small, Reeds - true to size, Big Macs- true to size.
Thanks a lot friends!

Yeah I have about 6 or 7 pairs of coveralls and here’s what I’ve found in my experience of owning so many… Red kaps, run on the small side and the reeds run bigger IMO… I wear a 42 Reg in red kaps and a 38 Reg in the Reeds. I have yet to buy any Dickies but when I do decide to buy hopefully someone will have some input on them for me! Thanks everyone and hope this helps you out!

Right on Todd! Thanks a lot for that. So when ordering Reeds you should take two sizes below comparing to Red kaps? I wonder if Roebucks runs on the smaller side, when I bought my Roebucks that was a long shot, I didn’t know my size and I still don’t LOL.

I think anything “Vintage” Roebucks, Big Macs,Big Smiths, etc… Safer to go normal size on them… And yeah for the Reeds I had to order two sizes smaller in order to be the same size as my Kaps!

My suggestion to you is measure your chest. That’s the only real way you’ll know what size Reeds to order. I have a 42" chest. When i ordered my Reeds i did not order a 42 because it’s not like i’m going to wear the coveralls by themselves and want them to fit skin tight. I’ll have a shirt maybe sweatshirt (depending how cold it is) and jeans on underneath. To allow room for that i ordered a 44 and they fit perfect. I can’t speak for any other brand because i don’t own any other brand.

You haven’t experienced Reeds being to large for you? I’m gonna make sure to measure my chest and settle it once and for all! If I want them to fit tight and short in the legs will a size under be way to small then for the Reeds?

i def would not order a size under in Reeds. If i would of ordered a 40, i don’t think there is any way i would fit. if it did fit it would be extremely tight. my pair of 44’s gives me perfect room for a shirt underneath and is not too tight when zipped. they fit like a good shirt does. not too big not too small - just right :sunglasses:

That’s really strange that they fit you perfectly, it might all come down to each individual and how the coveralls fit as well! I was just basing off what I’ve discovered through buying coveralls and I have two pairs of reeds and two pairs of Kaps…
