**_This is the fifth score on my journey to recreate the Vincet Drug Store scene where Rachel takes Jamie to get her costume in HALLOWEEN 4.
This time I added a 1977 Don Post Tor Johnson mask. This mask (an original sculpt by Pat Newman) was initially released in the late 1960’s but by 77 (like the one in H4) the mask was a bit larger and slightly retooled. These vintage Don Post masks are of great quality! This thing is thick rubber and quite heavy , even at 35 years old this mask is in excellent shape.
Looks spot on to the movie Benny
Big congrats on that my good brotha! The same mask(or a similar one was used in Mel Gibson’s MadMax
Good luck on your quest for the others
Wow, Benny, you are knocking these off the list pretty quick. I can’t wait to see them all together!
The Tor Johnson mask is one of the highest selling masks of all time, and Don Post Studios’ best seller. Congrats, buddy!
Shapeinthevoid, thanks! This is a little off the more-traveled Myers/Halloween collection path but I like it.
Dan Challis, I’m shooting for seven total so two more. There are a few more than seven in Vincent’s, but I’m only focusing on the masks that were in the section where Jamie picks out her Halloween costume. There was a Tor at the back of the room and a Myers mask in the middle-ish. This counts for two that I went after, the other five remaing are the ones that were all in a line setting together in the same room. These were; the Don Post Mummy/Be Something Studios DRAC/Distortion’s Seemore/Don Post Erik and a (as of now) unidentified Gorilla mask. This means only the DRAC and Gorilla mask remain to finish this project.
Thanks Leo, I love the vintage masks!
Thanks Donnie! Yeah at one time the Tor was the best selling Halloween mask for of ALL TIME! Hard to believe!! I hope to have the complete set displayed and pics taken care of in time for October.
Psycho Si, I appreciate it man. The list is definitely getting shorter!
Thanks Killah. Love the Don Post Mummy myself! The vintage masks really blow away the (mass-produced) stuff offered today. Thank goodness we have Indies!!!
Thanks xxRAGMANxx! It will be better once the final two pieces are intact and a few small things like the Living Nightmare pieces are added.
Thanks Anthony! Some were harder than others to gather. Luckily with Tor it wasn’t too hard finding one givien the amount that were produced. The key was just finding a copy in good condition (35 year old mask!) and with the look I wanted as there were several molds made for this mask.
Thanks Randy! Man you are one of those few people who truly enjoys seeing others enjoy their scores on a level close to getting a score yourself. That’s rare brother. You’re a great friend and an asset to this community.
You are reeling them in brother, one by one. I gotta say, seeing your quest for these masks makes me want to go on the journey, someday. Glad to see you add another top notch piece to the collection.
