in these few months I’ve been in the hobby I see there’s a lot of love for weathered masks, and some criticism about Niko’s paint, but looking at the pictures I was wondering, isn’t the clean white finish more screen accurate than with hard weathering? I saw this “Clean” version of the Castle 75k painted by Niko, doesn’t it look more accurate and more akin what JC or Loper would do?
Clean masks are awesome too. But the dirty, weathered masks are just more fun to paint for those of us that enjoy doing this. [emoji6]

Weathered is more accurate, at least for the neck. I can’t think of one time in HalloweeN where you see the mask with an all white neck

This finish is actually really good, and I prefer light weathering. I feel if you go overboard it loses some of the ghostly vibes the mask gives off

yes the gloss effect is more like the real thing IMO, one thing I noticed is that all the Nags repainted by JC or Loper are much whiter than Niko’s stock painting which seems to be more flesh tone and opaque, so I’m wondering, perhaps if you plan to have a mask finished by Nikos for a more affordable mask this clean finish is a better choice?
I think clean vs weathered really depends on the particular movie being replicated.

This one is much more accurate than his regular stock finishes imo, now the question is does this finish cost more than the regular stock. If it costs the same then I just found a choice that is looking pretty good.

The screen used mask we see on the screen is pretty filthy from the start. It only ever looks white because of lighting. Reflected light, filters etc.
Depends on what mask it is, some masks pull off a clean look better then others.

in this case Nag masks
