There were a lot of things that I really loved about Halloween 2018.
I really liked the chess board squares at the prison/hospital. I liked how you were not to cross the yellow line.
I liked how the mask was something everyone could ‘feel’ as having power.
I liked how Laurie said there was no story and no new piece of information.
I really liked the young boy walking in the dark towards the crashed bus. That scene was great.
I really loved how Laurie shot Michael and it was just a reflection in the mirror. That is smart outwitting smart. I like that sort of realistic battle of two very capable adversaries.
I really really liked Michael walking among the Trick-or-Treat-ers. That is just classic awesome.
I liked the way Dave died – hanging along the wall like that. So epic.
Wow, I can go on and on.
I really think this movie was just so jam packed with stuff that I’m not even remembering everything. This movie is definitely in need of multiple viewings! hehe.
honestly not enough time has passed to get over the things i didnt like about it to focus on the positives. im still shaking my head at james jude courtney saying he got tips on how to kill someone from a professional hitman…im glad they didnt incorporate any of that in the movie
I thought the movie was successful overall and will appeal to new and contemporary audiences just like it did for us in 78.
What I loved was the fact they made a new Halloween with JLC and Carpenter with Nick Castle.
Loved the Halloween feel and Lauries home.
The soundtrack.
However, there is a major error in the opening scene other than the choice of the doctor character. I strongly object to the checkerboard courtyard. It goes against the traditional protocols contained within psychiatric facilities. The opposite effect should be in place for a maximum security facility.
The checkerboard sharp contrast of color evokes violence and a disruptive pattern. In most facilities of this nature, calm, soft, muted, colors such as pastels are successful in the environment of treating patients.
Hey I am just going for an ultra realistic presentation like the original film did. I don’t care for the artsy version the Director has chosen for this particular scene.
