Halloween 5 and 8 were embarassing to the series
6 tried to clean up the mess that 5 left. and H20 showed life in the series.
I enjoyed the first half of RZ Halloween with young Michael and the relationship between him and loomis, once it hit the “remake” portion of the movie i thought it was very rushed and half assed.
RZ H2 was too violent and diddnt feel like a Halloween movie
yeah bro, no problem. you gave your opinion,I gave mine. Its all subjective.
As much as H5 blew, I have to give it a nod over the Busta Rhymes fiasco. That movie sucked imo. I’ll watch every Halloween film that comes on TV except that one!
You really think so? I found resurrection a tad bit more enjoyable even though of the busta rhymes fiasco and lame story…there was just something about halloween 5 that made me shake my head. I think alot of it had to do with the silly script and jamie starting to have visions of michael killing while it happened. Not to mention the cop humour was just plain unnecessary.
One thing the zombies movies did have advantage over the horrible sequels was the role of tyler mane, i think he did a much better job than any myers in the horrible sequels, even though a bit oversized. One thing i do want to mention, Sheriff Lee bracket did a tremendous job in the remakes and he is pretty much the only reason i even watched H2. For some reason it seemed like he was the only one that had any sense in the movie.
I’d have to put them both into the same category. The character development in H5-H8 was non-existant (I can’t even say “almost” non-existant). We care nothing for the characters or what happens to them like we did those in the original and H4. And they are almost never likable. Heroins from prior movies were kiled off in the first 15 minutes without so much as paying a small tribute. There was no respect for the original concept of Carpenter’s classic. Shit man, maybe Carpenter set that trend himself with the abysmal storyline of H2 (trust me, I love H2 in certain respects as much as anyone else). But one thing I can say for H5 and especially H6, it had a palpable atmosphere surrounding it that H20 lacked. I won’t even get into “resurrection”. When people talk about that wretched movie I stick my fingers in my ears and go “lalalalala” lol. Now as for Zombie’s movies, I can’t decide. The only real thing that attracted me to them is the fact that Danielle Harris is in them. That’s really it. Other than her, there’s nothing about these movies that are worthy of any respect. I think there’s an atmosphere around them though, to Zombie’s credit. But it’s an atmosphere of sheer hopelessness, unlike the original where we kept cheering for Laurie to beat the Shape’s ass. The character development in Zombie’s Halloween movies (and ALL his movies for that matter) is equally non-existant. The actress who played Laurie was a disgrace. Her friends were equally annoying (including Danielle). In fact the only victim I cared about besides Danielle was Dee Wallace’s character (cuz I like Dee Wallace). Oh yeah, and of course the little kids. But just like most horror movies, there was no worthy fight between good and evil, which I personally think is (or SHOULD be) the underlying theme in EVERY horror film. Otherwise we’re left with nothing but dread and despair. This is why I stay away from movies like Saw and Hostile because they put me in a mental place that I don’t want to be. That is not “horror”, it’s Hades. Even The Exorcist was somewhat fair to the “good side”.
So to answer the question, which movies suck more…Zombie’s or the original sequels? It depends but if I had to choose, I wouldn’t. I can’t even vote in the poll. I only own H1, H2, H4, and H20. And let me tell you something about H20…it redefined the meaning of mediocre. It should have ended there. Period.

Yeah bro, Mane was a little on the Frankenstein size but I agree he was the best since Warlock. He had a great walk and his head movements were chilling. And I agree as well man, Brad Douriff was GREAT!!!
The last couple of sequels were pretty bad. I enjoy all the halloween movies dont get me wrong but my favs of the orginal series go upto H6, after that it was bad. I know people dislike H5 and H6 and to some extent H4 but i really enjoy them, probably nostalgia. The remakes werent bad if you try not to compare to the original series.
To answer your question id probably perfer to sit through the last sequels, im a big fan of the original series
