Why do the call the Michael Myers mask “hero”?

“Hero” simply means it was used in the movie. Like you might hear people say “stunt mask”, and “hero”, the stunt mask was used in stunt scenes, and the hero is the main mask that you see throughout the movie.

Hero means main prop used. Like for example in Halloween 1978 there were three masks used. 2 stunt masks and the “hero”. The hero was used for up close shots.
