The Directors Cut fully realizes his story for part 2.
Thanks guys. I also feel that the directors cut of H2 brings his vision to the perfect conclusion. The Myers family are finally together now even if it is in death and the tagline “Family is forever” makes a lot more sense.
honestly…i loved RZH1…hate RZH2,all i gotta say.
I LOVE Rob Zombies movies, PERIOD. House of 1000 corpses and The devils rejects are 2 of my all time favorite horror movies. I just wish Rob would have taken The essence of Michael myers and other similar, brutal killers and made his own franchise. He had enough to make it his own and introduce a brand new icon for all of us to love without using “Halloween”
Also one thing these films really have going for them as well is the excellent soundtracks which give the films a timeless quality.
Spooky…EXCELLENT post. I agree 100%. Rob brought back the PSYCHOPATH Michael Myers. Tyler Mane is the best Myers since Warlock, and man, you GOTTA love Rob’s cinematography and lighting/film look.
The franchise was in a sad state of affairs that found our hero trying to keep up with the trend of “WB” horrors which amounted to pretty people who acted terrible and delivered a ton of cheesy one liners. The once evil shape was getting smacked around by Busta Rhymes. Then Rob took over.
I’d LOVE to see Tyler Mane rip Busta Rhymes head off.
As for the RZ hate? some of it are the purists who only watch JC’s Halloween and the others are just riding the trend. Its not “cool” to like ROb Zombie these days. I remember a few years ago the same shit happened to Eli Roth. People hated on him pretty bad as well. These trends come and go.
As more time passes I think more and more people will see his movies for what they realy are…pieces of horror history. This is a throw back to horror the way it used to be. When horror made your jaw drop with surprise and horror and tension. The original series no matter how much I loved it was dead years ago. Zombie brought it back not to the origin of the series but to the origin of horror itself. And that something that hasn’t been done in a great while. These films aren’t throw away films. They have impact on whoever sees them. Love it or hate it but you are alive as you watch. Flinching and uncomfortable. In a way it’s kind of beautiful.
