Halloween 4 is my third favorite movie in the franchise right behind Halloween and Halloween II. The movie has some problems but still remains a very solid entry thanks in part to H4’s great characters. One of those special characters is Reverend Jackson P. Sayer (from Dumont county)!
The good reverend plays a brief part in Halloween 4 when he gives a ride to Dr Loomis who is footing it to Haddonfield. Loomis has became stranded after an encounter with Myers back at Penney’s garage. Michael escaped the garage bursting through the overhead doors driving a 1958 Chevrolet task force Viking wrecker and ignited the gas pumps. The gas pumps in return ignited Loomis’ car.
**(Interesting side note: a 1958 Chevrolet task force was also used in Halloween, it was the Phelp’s Garage truck, only an Apache version. Was this an intentional homage to Halloween '78?)
Reverend Sayer picks up Loomis in his rusting ‘58 Chevrolet Task Force Apache.
It is a very rough vehicle with advanced rust, a busted driver’s side headlight, cut rubber tires for bumper guards and a tag that reads simply AMEN. Inside there are several bumper stickers such as I heart Jesus and I Believe the Bible. There is a rosary hanging from the rear view mirror, an assortmant of doodads litter the truck’s dash and some makeshift curtains are pulled apart from the cabs’ window. The truck has ALMOST as much character as Sayer himself.
All these details were painstakingly recreated in this 1:24 scale die cast replica by the very talented Erik Arndt. Erik you did the good Reverend justice!
*I am working on a in scale George Dickel bottle to lie in the passenger seat.

That’s so cool, and I never realized it was the same type of truck as the Phelps truck in H1! Crazy how he got all those little details in the cab right. I’d love to see someone make a diecast of the station wagon as well. Frankly, I think H1 would make for a great set of diecast cars…the station wagon, Loomis’ car, Brackett’s police car, and Annie’s car.
Thanks, all credit goes to Erik Arndt…this was completely his work!
The StationWagon is out there and Erik is doing up one for me in Loomis H1 style now… I’m actually getting the diorama, it’s a joint project between Erik Arndt and Ryan Shaffer, very cool piece:
Thanks buddy, Erik does great work. He did up this Phelp’s garage for me from Halloween '78 as well. I love his attention to detail, if you look in the first pic you’ll even seen the Rabbit in Red matches lying on the ground:
