1970’s mask prices

Hey, I’ve been looking around to see what the prices for a don post mask would have been in the 70’s. How much were the Star Trek masks??

Here you go, an old Franco’s Novelty Shop ad from 1976. They charged $16.50 for a Kirk. It could be found even cheaper though in certain stores and what not. By the time they started production on Halloween, these star trek masks were a couple bucks, if that. It was basically on its way out of production by that point.

the 1975 kirk Sean Clark just got. the original owner said it was bought from the Disneyworld magic shop for
$39.99 back in 1976

That’s normal for Disney, things are always more expensive in the parks. The mask straight from the Franco catalog was $16.50 in 76’. So that’s about right on Disney’s price inflation. Of course retailers are always free to set their own prices. Normal novelty shops around America did not charge that much.

However by 1976 standards, $39.99 was a good chunk of change for a mask, and is probably the reason the owner of that Kirk kept it in nice shape.

Is it bad that if I had a time machine the first thing I would do is go back and buy 30 of these? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Ok. Well disney totally overcharged! 40 bucks back then in today’s money is around 250.

Yeah exactly, and that’s most likely why the owner that purchased it at Disney kept it in good shape.

 Hell no I thought the same thing, goddamn i think Tommy Wallace said he paid $3-4 bucks each or something
at jacks jokes i think it was called

Only 30? Shoot, man. I’d grab every case xx knife, size 48 coveralls and Jungle boots too.
