1978 coveralls

Hi guys, what are the most accurate coveralls to the original that you can buy?

Well, believe it or not, it was recently discovered that the coveralls used in Halloween 1978 were grey Sears tradewears coveralls. I believe you can find them on Ebay. If you can’t find those however, there are a few other very close options like Big Macs coveralls.

I have been looking for the tradewears and have had no luck, I haven’t been able to find big macs either, I’ll keep looking to see if I can find any.

**Sears Work and Leisure in the color Grey was what the hero pair was. Problem is they are hard to find. A pair was up for sale on the Facebook group for a super low price of $40. Another super close pair would be vintage Sears Robucks. Pocket flap and stitching are almost exact these are slightly easier to find but still can be difficult.

This is my pair of Robucks.**

those look really good, I can see a pair on ebay but I don’t know if it would fit the mannequin I ordered

They are fairly true to size. If you have a standard Male 6’ mannequin then a Size 44-46R would fit it perfect.

the ones on ebay are 36R and the measurement for the mannequin chest is 96cm which is almost 38 inches, so I don’t think it would fit.

I’ve got some JC Penney Big Macs in spruce green and I’m pretty happy with them.

I was thinking about buying red kaps, I’m trying to decide between spruce green, navy or charcoal.

Any 6’1. 185-195 puns guys here?? What size do you get? Don’t wanna have legs flood or arms too short or look like I’m swimming In coveralls

same here lol but my buddy said 40 long or 42 long would fit me good and were about same size

Spruce red kaps are probably the most accurate h1 coveralls that are being produced now. Vintage coveralls will always beat new coveralls, but vintage coveralls in the right size can be hard to come by.

I don’t know if spruce green would look a little too green, I’m stuck between those and charcoal.

Montgomery Ward Coveralls are also very accurate, close to Big Macs.

Duuuuddeeee, you got a pair!? Welcome to the club! lol Where’d you pick yours up?

They were recently on eBay, actually. Picked them up several weeks ago. I’m afraid I’m just a bit too tall/wide in the shoulders to fit them like Castle. My friend, on the other hand, is built very similarly to Nick (in ‘78) and they fit him damn near perfectly.

nice find.

I ended up getting spruce green red kaps, now all I need is boots but the only olive green jungle boots I can find are £50($60) on amazon, are they always this expensive?

real ones are at least 200 bucks, depending if you get real ones that are issued from the Vietnam war
