1985 Don Post The Mask? (Overhaul by Freddy Loper)

So I got an interesting comment on my video saying this is, “100% not an original 85 Don Post The Mask.)
Just to let everyone know what markings it has on the back, it says.
“C 1985 Don Post Studios Inc” on the back on the left side of the slit.
" TM A Don Post Studios Mask” on the back on the right side of the slit.

Any help from some of the experts?

The kirk came out in 75’ but TLW didn’t buy the Kirk until 1978 and the “75” kirk to my knowledge was in production up until 79-80 and even out of production if you asked for one they would make you one (kinda a half breed myers/kirk with weird paint and def different hair) up until around 1984 when the Master came up missing (maybe lost in storage maybe stolen) and the old molds were pretty washed out… I personally believe DPS had nothing to do with pt1, but did in fact work with them on h2 (I know a lot of people will question that, however 40 odd years later It’s hard to as a mask maker to remember 78 to 81) hell when someone asked me what glue or brand of paint I used on something I did 20 years ago lol I have no idea what I used so take that w a grain of salt I suppose. Im not gonna lie and make something up Im just going to say I can’t remember… I’ve owed an h2 never used stunt and it wasn’t nothing really to write home about… The masks used in h2 were 2 from the original film, however there are a lot of speculation on who did what. I personally have my opinion but im not gonna stir things up. Just saying what anyone says these days that worked in the studio or on h1-h2 sets there not gonna remember things correctly. Ive made ALOT of different masks and I change products up hear and there when I find a better way and if u asked me what I used on this or that… It’s hard for me to remember exactly what products I used and even what year I did it… BTW tho Freddy did an amazing job on this gem…

Yes Freddy did do an amazing job. I am just wondering if it is an authentic 1985 Don Post The Mask or not.

All that ironman000 guy has to say is his copy is extremely thin and poor quality, that literally means nothing, that just means he got a crappy copy of “the mask” and your copy odeed is a good thicker pull, doesn’t mean it’s not legit.

Cool thanks, man. That’s kinda what I figured.

well whats the copyright on the back say…
