I remember back in '05 Justin Mabry of Nightowl releasing the retooled Evilution and being mind-blown by the sculpt. I knew immediately the mask that was born was the most innovative in the hobby and my favorite mask. I have owned countless copies of the Maniac over the years, but the #5 copy ever made always caught my eye. I liked it more than the Proto and it truly was my grail. I’ve owned it for a few years now and the detail and history still blows me away.
Sorry for the iffy photo. I took some with my phone and it is currently stored in an acrylic case, which, for those who know, don’t reflect light well. This is in a dark room with flash just to emphasize the details. The thicker latex truly makes a world of difference and I miss masks being made like this. Feel free to post any sentimental masks to you or anything with historical value or nostalgia. Amazing this hobby is now stronger than ever and I love seeing historical pieces.
Definitely my ToTs H2, it may be mass produced, but it was my first ever mask and has a lot of history (and certainly responsible for a lot of scares too ). And just recently, it got signed by Nick, so it’s my most important and most essential mask in my collection of 5 (also the sculpt derived from the Nightowl Lunatic and the H2 was the mask that had a major impact on mask collecting)
This is awesome man! When I started collecting there weren’t any worthwhile sculpts available, but the Lunatic is one of my favorite sculpts ever and having yours signed by Nick is amazing! Definitely a lifelong keeper. Here is a mask that’s been with me for over 11 years now
