2018 Halloween interviews and trailers too much

Was just wondering if anyone thinks the new trailers and all these interviews give away too much of the movie. Compared to the original 1978 trailer we know a lot about the movie, about lorie and her daughter and granddaughter. I feel they are giving so much away. Wondered if they even had interviews in 1978 about the film or if people went in surprised. What are your thoughts?

Yes. I feel like I watched about half of the movie already. It won’t be as good now. But oh well. That’s what I get for being on this forum I guess.

Just watching Jamie’s interviews. She gives sooo much away, maybe not small details, but still way more about what’s in lories head, and what happened to her family etc. in fact watches one interview and she made it out to be about women fighting back and brought out comments about Cosby. Well maybe way deep down in the film it’s that or it’s just another great Myers film and nothing more, don’t make the film into something it’s not.

At the same time she talks about Cosby and other things she can’t stop touching men live on TV (she touched the lap of a guest of Graham Norton’s Show). lol

What I don’t like is the fact that the mask came out several weeks before the movie. Back in 78 nobody knew what Michael was going to look like. That’s why we all went ape sh!t when we saw the phone scene. In this new 2018 film we all know every little detail about the mask. Talk about a buzz kill. Who’s brilliant idea was that? :unamused:

I agree. I’ve been avoiding everything since the 2nd trailer dropped. It’s kinda hard not to see stuff though

I’ve read what people have seen in the early screenings, and watched reviews to find out the ending, but I don’t plan on watching any interviews by Jamie, I am just really hoping that they do a good job on the editing

How does talking about Michael Myers and Halloween turn into a rant calling Cosby a piece of S#%^ and then mentioning women coming forth out against wrongs done to them. I would have felt weird if I was the interviewer

Trailers give away way too much in general these days, IMO. Yeah, from the VERY FIRST trailer they showed so much of Michael I have a hard time believing I haven’t already seen the majority of the scenes he’s in. I refused to watch the rest of the ones that were released after the first. Good God, Michael walking around, grabbing knives, sitting up, smashing through doors, appearing in closets, etc. What happened to subtlety, teasing and enticement?

When those interviews and new trailers pop up on the suggested side bar, I just can’t help myself. Have spoiled a good amount of the movie for myself, but I’m still feeling good about going to the premiere.

I understand where Jamie Lee Curtis is coming from, but I don’t think this movie is really a movie for the #MeToo era, not even in the subtext. David Gordon Green seems to cringe every time she speaks on behalf of the script. I think that’s her interpretation of it’s relevance to contemporary issues, and she’s certainly entitled to her opinion. Just a bit odd when she speaks up on behalf of the writer.

Totally agree!
