yep, they definitely didn’t like what I had to say…

mammer:Wasn’t a pleasant debate either.
Were you the poor guy getting tag-teamed by him and Paul? I thought about jumping in, but I got into it with Mabry last week and it seems like they’re all a little too thick headed for civil debate

Haha yikes. Yeah it’s too bad that I like a lot of their products, because I’m not impressed with the company side of things

He made a post on the m-m.net Facebook page going on about it and the debate was raging in the comments. Shouldn’t take but a few scrolls on there to find it. My fear is that if they get a license for all the films to make masks of, he’ll all but kill the indie community through threat of legal action. I’m surprised people like Ken Hertlein and Terry Lambert haven’t been taken down since they have the H2 license, but maybe he knows better than to go after the heavy hitters that are still around.
I worry about the smaller opperations that really keep this hobby alive.

I found it and read it, but it seems a lot of the comments have been deleted it seems. Couldn’t find any bashing of someone like mentioned above. I agree to that, that I’m worried about it killing the indie community. They promised it wouldn’t back in 2012 but now they’re starting to and it’s terrifying. Soon the only option will be to buy a license (which is possible, just expensive). Nikos is standing. Justin’s NO site is still standing. Ben is still standing. Terry is still standing. It seems like it’s all a matter of whose on their like/dislike list or something. It’s very upsetting to see from a company that I looked up to
.

Kens mask is apparently licensed. So I’d say that’s the best licensed Myers mask of all time now. I’ll guess the arrangement was something along the lines of give me a free one and I won’t cause a fuss.

Seems like Chris needs a good ol’ jab to the jaw. Not that I promote violence - but assholes like that need to be reminded they’re not above people just because they’re successful. Tots was put on the map because of indie artists.
Hmm Ken has an ‘arrangement’ with them. Maybe Chris got a discount on his Ultimate so he wouldn’t report him ![]()

How do you know they have an arrangement?

Also we don’t really know for sure, but going by what zephro said, Ken and him have an agreement

See like how does that work though? I don’t understand how that’s fine and also Justin can profit off of Trancas’s intellectual property rights that he doesn’t own a part of by selling the shat/creep? I don’t understand I guess

Well Justin is part of his team and providing him with new sculpts so why do anything to disrupt that. Honestly I think he’s just flexing because he’s scared of competition. He knows indie masks are much better quality and people will continue putting money into them instead of his. If he puts down the indie makers, it’s a little bit more money in his pocket, potentially
Something that I’m personally confused by, why does he say that his team created the mask? I thought Chris and Vince were added to the team way after the fact or is that the wrong info?

Can I cancel my pre-order of the 2018 mask?
This Chris Zephro dude seems like a real nozzle.

I don’t know if that means he’s licensed. He can’t buy an H2 license from TOTS, it would have to be through whatever company wholly owns that right and grants it to TOTS. So if that were the case he’d have an arrangement with Trancas or whoever.
My guess is the arrangement was a cut of each mask sale goes to TOTS?

I reread your post and first of all wow that went over my head
second, agreed. I really looked up to TOTS and all of this is hurting my head.
I do understand that they have a license and all the indie makers do not, I get that they have the right to bring the hammer down on these people- but that doesn’t mean I think it’s right to do it so harshly to these people that they once were. It honestly makes me sad.

I am just shocked more people didn’t know they have been doing this for years now. Glad people are finally seeing the light.
