A breath of fresh air

Lately, there have been a bit of troll posts on here, and I have decided to give some air to this thread with a topic,
Well, more of a question, everyone can answer wholeheartedly. How did you get introduced to the Halloween franchise?

First off… “Don’t feed the trolls”
I fell in love with the TV trailer in '78 when I was young. The rest is history :myers: :pumpkin: :drinkers:

Back in 2017, when I was in 6th grade, I was originally planning on going as Jason, but when Michael became a character in Dead by Daylight, I was genuinely terrified of him, and my dad seemed to be a bit of a Myers fan, so instead of Jason, I went as Michael for that Halloween and went to my school Halloween mixer as him using a ToTs H2 Deluxe and some oversized, baggy navy blue dickies coveralls that I had to sow the arms and legs inside a bit so it could fit me. I terrified so many people at the mixer and on Halloween, it was so much fun and I felt so cool that I immediately fell in love and started to watch the films and research Myers. Once I heard of the indie mask market, that’s when my hobby of mask collecting and making began. Here’s pictures of me in 2017 on Halloween, and my ToTs H2 Deluxe as it is today, signed by both Nick Castle himself and James Jude Courtney. I’ll never part with it.

My story takes place when I was very young. Not sure how young, maybe…4? My dad and I would watch TV until I passed out. He made me watch older films, mainly black and white. Some old shows too. I very much enjoyed them. I woke up late one night. My dad was asleep. I shut my eyes and tried to go back to sleep. I kept hearing eerie music and a boy complaining about “the boogeyman” but I was too afraid to look at the screen and just kept my eyes shut. John Carpenter’s score is what kept me up. It scared me so bad. Technically, I didn’t actually watch the movie. Made it scarier for me cause I had no idea what the “boogeyman” actually was. I assumed it was a monster. I heard screams and gunshots and more terrifying music. I did manage to get back to sleep (somehow) and asked my dad what the boogeyman was the next day. He laughed and knew exactly what I was talking about. Wouldn’t actually watch the movie until a few years later when I actually really got into horror (age 6/7). I loved it and finally figured out what the boogeyman was. Purely and Simply, evil.

Somewhere in mid late 90s, started with H1 and H3

I was born in 1989 so I was lucky enough that VHS was still a big thing when I was a kid and growing up.
Thats how I got to see all these killer horror movies :pumpkin: The first time I was 8 years old and got to see
the 1978 Halloween on VHS. It blew my tiny little mind I was obsessed with how creepy he was /the walk/mask everything.

After that it was off to the races, the local Rogers Video down the street had all the sequels (back when there only 6-7 films)
So many great memories, you would get to keep the VHS for a week rental so you could watch it tons of times.
I have vivid memories of watching H4 and H5 over and over at age 8 or 9 :myers:

Saw bits of Halloween 2 on TV when I was in elementary school. Got hooked ever since.

First saw Halloween when I was 7 years old in 1982. I became obsessed with the mask. And the rest is history.

Video cassette horror as a little kid.

From what I can remember, when I was young, my parents were watching Halloween 1978 on tv while I was in the room with them, and the scene on at the time that I clearly remember was the schoolyard scene. When the bully ran into Michael’s arms, I covered my eyes  For a number of years after that, the Myers masks terrified me, as I can remember going to a store once and seeing Halloween 4 or 5 (can’t remember which) and seeing Michael’s mask just stuck with me for the rest of the day. In the years after that, I overcame that fear and watched the rest of the series, and fell in love with the character, going as far as to buy coveralls and my first cheap Myers mask and plastic knife. The rest is history

Funny enough, it was my brother who introduced me to horror, the first serial killer he showed me was Michael Myers. I was in elementary school back then and became really scared of this killer wearing such an emotionless white pale mask, and coveralls and kitchen knife, and something about those things captivated me. I always wanted to be Michael Myers for Halloween, but didn’t have money to afford indie masks, and trick or treat studios didn’t exist back then, so there wasn’t really a decent looking Myers masks.

When I discovered Nightowl Creep, I immediately fell in love. It was the mask that I saw exactly as a kid watching halloween 1978. I saw that as the perfect H1 mask, and really wanted one, but was stunned that it costs over $300.

It wasn’t until December of 2018 that I started collecting, and ordered a Nightowl Creep. I became super excited, and was curious also what other options are out there as well. I became obsessed with the Father Phantom Studios Spectre, and then realized there is such great replicas of H1 masks out there! I then discovered Nag Masks, and became obsessed with starting my own collection. I was lucky enough on February of 2019 to score a 2005 Nightowl Psycho overhauled James Carter for $550, I attached the listing of the mask below. I ordered a 75k castle later on, sold it, then expanded my collection from there until I ended up with my 4 masks that I am satisfied with and couldn’t let go of.

1.) The OG 2010 Nightowl Creep Very first run of ten, formerly owned by ramonesome (Jason McNamara)

2.) 2005 Nightowl Psycho overhauled by James Carter

3.) 2005 Nightowl Psycho TAGGED overhauled by Freddy Loper

4.) Ken Hertlein Ultimate Early Run #P6
