A couple of new masks.

Thank you, guys! Much appreciated. :sunglasses:

Very very true. Good Point!

Didn’t really take into account the old DP latex, plus if it gets foam filled, it should push out out the crease for the most part. Personally if it was my mask, I’d try it with a very slow speed, and not too hot (instead of hitting it full blast on top temp and probably melting), but then again it is a risk that only the owner of a mask should decide on making or skipping (overall it’s not worth it considering it’s a tagged/ probably never worn copy, and it’s runs of the risk of speeding up deterioration).

If the mask gets foam filled then shouldn’t that negate any possible deterioration in the future from occurring, or in the very least slow it down considerably?

Great Scores Dude!

Not only are the masks and prices you paid awesome but going into a store like that and buying them in such a “treasure find” way really rocks!

Congrats Colby… really great hauls!

Thanks, axe dude, Ben, and James!

Actually, I didn’t buy the DPS 1986 “The Mask” in the store. I got that one from someone I met online who, with a partner, purchased the contents of an old costume shop that had been closed for many years. Here’s a video of the contents of the shop where my new “The Mask” came from… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6XIKJiAneU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
They also had many really cool vintage masks that weren’t shown in the video and they sold them on eBay, I didn’t get them because of the dang competition. LOL. I’m just glad that I was able to score the “The Mask” for such a great price. But, the “Skull” sure was a “treasure find”! You are right, it’s a MUCH better feeling finding it in an old costume shop than finding it through someone online.

squid boy, foam-filling is the best way to preserve masks. It will stop the deterioration/rotting. It keeps its shape FOREVER. Big Cat’s old '75 Kirk was foam-filled in 1993 and it still looks exactly the same today, for an example. :drinkers:
