According to what Annie told Enos, the counselors were expecting to recieve 50 campers within a week or two.
Annie of course was suppose to be the cook who was going to prepare meals for the campers.
But where were they going to eat?
What we did not get to see in the film was the dining hall or cafeteria, which I assume was being prepared for use along with all of the other camp facilities, buildings, and cabins.
Every sleepaway summer camp movie ever made featured a dining hall or cafeteria where the children ate.
This cafeteria or dining hall should be the largest building on the camp grounds.
Even though no filming took place in the dining hall, is it just simply understood within the fandom that this building was indeed nearby?
Or was it implied that the children were going to be eating their meals outside, perhaps under a dining fly if it was raining?
Some of you guys never cease to amaze me with where your minds wander with these horror films. I respect the passion and thoughts of course as I very much so get into all the details of the brand name of clothing and accessories worn by the killers etc… I would assume it being such a smaller camp in the first film they would just all eat outside around a camp fire or down by the lake or something. I doubt a coordinated eating area was even thought of for the first film. Camp Crystal Lake in the first film was made to look very isolated and very small.
I legit never thought ab this idea. But I’m glad I now do, lol. Very good catch.
great setting, I’m sure we will see it in the F13 series by Brad Fuller (Hannibal show writer)
anyone else pumped for a big 2024 full of jason?
I would assume that the dining hall and cabins were located elsewhere on the property. When I went to summer camp as a kid, the staff buildings (administrative building, counselor’s retreat, the nurse’s office, etc) were located closer to the parking lot while the dining hall, snack shack (we called it the Pickle Shack because it was green with a giant pickle painted on the back of it), gaming hall (pool tables, ping pong tables, booths for snacking, hanging out, and playing cards), and all the other camper-related buildings were located at the center of the compound. The sleeping cabins were located on either side of the other main buildings (boys cabins on one side, girls on the other).
One can assume to have seen our camp’s counselor building, archery range, lake, showers, and cabins (basically the main settings of Camp Crystal Lake) and have not only never stepped foot in the dining hall, but never even see the building.
Does anyone know if any filming took place inside the cabin or building that Alice was repairing with the hammer and nails while she was talking with Steve Christy?
If not, this could be the dining hall.
It does appear to be one of the larger buildings at the camp, and could be big enough to accommodate 50 kids and ten staff.
