A moment of silence......

I know I am still a newbie here but this is BY FAR the best horror forum on the net with SO many great members and honestly…We ALL need to take a moment of silence  and remember the good times because collecting horror memorabilia (especially myers related) will NEVER be the same. Its a new day from here on folks. Its very disheartening to see what is happening. Im not gonna say the T word but when you think about it thats only an extension (an effective one at that) of what the problem is and unfortunately we have limited access to the root of it and I doubt that any of our thoughts, or opinions would matter to the BOSSES because its all about the mighty dollar. Alot of hardworking mask makers are gonna take a huge hit and in my opinion (and it may only be my opinion) its Injust. I know there are some guys that will have to take a serious step back and re-evaluate the big picture because of all of this and to some that may be a difficult and even scary thing. This thread is meant to be light hearted but I take this very personally even though most of my work is based on another franchise, It doesnt matter. It is what it is and its pretty sad  I hope you guys will reply to this thread with respect to what is going on and dont use the wrong words, dont blame etc, I would like to hear ALL of your (Censored, lol) views :unamused:
Jamie

well said Jamie
all my words from now on about this will be said on my new facebook group
just so nothing bad happens

your right about taking a hit
some masks makers make masks to pay bills and feed the family
I just hope this goes away like a fart in the wind

Jamie this was very well said and I for one thank you for writing such a well thought out post. I couldn’t agree more with everyting that you have said. This is a very sad day. When I first read it, I felt a huge sinking feeling in my gut like something I care about so much was just taken away from me. It’s definetley a loss and there is no shame in saying that. Much like a death this is such a loss in the sense that it’s something that means so much, to so many of us. I know that one of the highlights of my day was seeing what kind of treasures I could find on the classifieds. Just like when I bought my Tony from you (which I still LOVE), I was soooooo excited and still sometimes just sit and stare at it. To think that we may no longer be able to experience that freely without sneeking around or speaking in codes is just down right depressing and dis-heartning. This is such a big part of my life not just because its a Myers, Jason or Monster mask. This hobby is part of who I am and what I am all about. It defines my being in many other aspects of my life. It’s about the art, the idea behind the masks, the community and relationships that I have come to cherish.
The same country that gives people the oppotunity to make money also gives people opportunity to be greedy and do things like this…legally and it’s very, very sad. I don’t really know what else to say except let’s move on, keep our chin’s up and find other ways to keep doing what we love to do so much. Well…whoever has spearheaded this extermination, I hope they feel really good about themselves now. At least something would have come of it. :frowning:

Thanks for listening,
Nick
