A Samuel Loomis/ Smiths Grove prequel TV show? could it work

Ive been thinking for sometime that a prequel tv show about Samuel loomis in his prime working at smiths grove encountering multiple psychopaths and his personal life being in the spotlight would be really really fun to watch. Making samuel more of a fleshed out character, and seeing his view on things and his reason for thinking michael is evil incarnate and why he wants to straight up kill him even after he has known him for 15 years since Michael was a kid would be really interesting. Like the new show “Gotham” it can start out with Michael as a kid until the last season which could basically be a remake of the original hallowen. Before the conclusion, like rob zombies halloween 1, it can show us more of the relationship between the child Michael Myers and Samuel loomis from sessions to sessions. I was also thinking that it would be a really cool for Samuel Loomis to introduce THE mask to michael (shatner mask) in an attempt to indirectly tell michael that he has become really emotionless over the years and the mask is a reflection on his sudden comatose behavior; then in the conclusion season Michael would find the mask when he breaks out of the asylum. Back to Samuels personal life, it can show us what kinda person he is outside the asylum, maybe he has a girlfriend who coincidentally died on the night he met kid Michael Myers symbolizing that his life started going downhill when he met michael. Samuel would have a huge character change from a respected psychiatrist to a has been who has lost everything and constantly argues with the workers at the asylum. the only thing he has in his life is Michael which is not a good thing. it doesnt really have to be a long series, i think if they released it on netflix it would get more freedom and more of a following which could make a long series more of a possibility. In the conclusion i would be cool if they dont make laurie and Michael related like the original, And make the reason for michaels return as merely just to relive the night he killed his sister by targeting teenage girls because they remind him of her; especially laurie. In the end i dont know if it would work if you just ended where halloween 1 ended or do halloween 2 in the hospital which i kinda think would be cool but anyways it would end with loomis killing michael and getting his own personal redemption (if they decide to end it where halloween 1 ended) So what do you guys think? could this work, and would you like to see it? if so who do you think good casting choices could be? :myers: :myers Tell me what you guys think would work in a series like this and what would you want this series to have? Silver Shamrock easter eggs? lol jk although self referential Easter eggs would be a cool nod to the fans of the halloween series but yeah what would you guys want in this show?

I’m not a fan of prequels within horror, I don’t like too much explained, it usually doesn’t work (also why I’m not looking forward to the Crystal Lake tv show, even though that’s probably a whole new continuity). I think your idea could conceptually work as a tv show within a new Halloween continuity, but within the established ones it’d cheapen/weaken Loomis’ relationship with and fear of The Shape/Michael.

I am not looking to that show at all either. The halloween prequel show though, wouldnt really be established, say like how “Oz the great and powerful” was already established by “The Wizard Of Oz”. It would be more of a remake thing, which personally i think could work better than a two hour movie remake having to cater to a more wide audience. I just think a tv show that spends more time on the dynamic of Michael and Samuel over the years would be interesting to watch and see how samuel’s need of trying to help a lost child changes to wanting to kill and save a tamed and bright town from a supernatural like psychopath.
