Dear Members of Michael-Myers.net,
My name is Nathan Bellew, and I was once banned from the site, as well as placed on the “scammers” list. I would like to you all to please take your time reading this message, take what I am saying with open and minds, and forgive me for my actions. I’d first like to admit to the two things that I can see that I did wrong- lying about the pieces I owned, and treating some of the people on this site like a total d*ck. On my old yourprops page, and constantly on the site, I would brag about different “screen used” props that I owned, even though I clearly did not. Not that these actions were justified, but the reason I lied about obtaining such props was strictly so I seemed like a “big shot” collector. The reason I strove for such a reputation was because that is what I thought I had to be like to fit in or be appreciated on the board. In hindsight, I was not disliked for my lack of a a stellar collection, but for my ignorance and childish actions and grammar. As for treating some people so rudely, there is no excuse for it. (Yes, I’ve looked at my old posts and cringed at how annoying I was). I would like to take this moment to apologize profusely for both of those things. I’m I will also admit that after my ban from the website, I made multiple accounts to try and bypass the ban. This was only out of my desperation to still be a part of the community. Not to harm anyone else. I also sent some members outrageous offers on pieces that I couldn’t afford or back up- which was wrong, but again to maintain that false status as a “serious collector”.
With that being said, I am now an 18 year old, first year college student pursuing a degree in business finance. As you can probably tell already, I’ve grown up quite a bit. Around my first years on the site, I was 12-13 and just overall ignorant; however, I have matured outrageously since then, and believe that I do deserve a chance at redemption.
As far as I know, I was banned due to my connections to Gavin Hormann, and my treatment of other members. Let me please explain him, my relation, and how we are two completely separate people who have nothing to do with each other.
When I discovered the website, I showed my friend Gavin Hormann and he also decided to make an account. We did this on the same computer. (This becomes important later). Gavin is the same age as I am and during his time on the website, he lied to several people, bad talked them, and even tried to rip some people off. The one incident that sticks out specifically is when he asked another member, Jo, about how to make paper maché masks like the ones seen in Rob Zombie’s Halloween, and then implied that he would use these techniques to sell his as screen used masks- and he did so. He made an eBay listing, which I had no idea about, and claimed his masks were authentic. Word of this got around and he was, rightfully, branded a scammer. Now is where our accounts come into play. Along with my similar foolish behavior and grammatical errors, members eventually came to the conclusion that we were the same person. This is 100% false. I haven’t tried to rip off others and I can promise that I never will. I would like to apologize for any trouble I have ever caused on Michael-Myers.net.
I would love to be a part of this community again. I often lurk around the boards and check out threads, and words cannot describe how much I miss being a part of such an awesome community. Prior to my ban, I sold and traded with many members, as well as non members, and it went off without a hitch. I even dealt with a moderator at one point. Out of privacy I will not name which one. I cannot speak for Gavin, but my intent was never to rip anyone else off.
So please take what I said with forgiveness in your hearts. Any wrongs I have done, I will right them. If any of this is incorrect, or you just believe it to be, tell me and I will gladly give an explanation and clear my name.
Also, a message similar to the one above was sent to the mods, and I have been taken off the scammers list and “unbanned”.
