A tale of Hagatha's: then and now

I took some pictures this evening to hopefully relieve some of you on what the “new” Green Witch from DPS will look like. The original 1981/82 mold for Hagatha is long gone and in the early stages of development for the 2012
Halloween III re-release, Don Post was going to re-sculpt the Hagatha. Unbelievably, the savior Rob Tharp (Don Post’s right hand man!) found an original 1983 PVC mold for the Hagatha. (This version has no ears, the eye-holes have been widened but is extremely detailed.) Where and how this mold for the elusive witch was found still has not been answered but I can assure you, it’s the 1983 ear-less master that is being used for the 2012 re-release.

1982

1983

(This is what the 2012 masks will look like detail wise, not paint wise…and this is a thin pull!)

2012

I took the 2012 catalog picture and muted down the green so you can see the details of the Hagatha mask.

Can’t wait for these!
Your original Hagatha is the best one out there.
Flawless!

Thank you!
And at one time I had 5 (5 1982) of them plus the black hooded (1981) one. Now I’m back down to 3 (1981, 1982, 1983) and an original 1985 numbered test pull. After these new ones come out, should have at least 15 of the 2012 ones.

I remember when I was there in 89’ There were hundreds of metal molds stored outside in the yard. Huge forklift baskets with every Vinyl(PVC) design you can think of. There were so many skull molds I lost count. Was an amazing site to see.

OUTSIDE!!!
I just cried a little Sam…thanks!

Looks great Billy

heh sorry Billy. They were outside but under a covered area. That isn’t the worst part. I’m sure when Don switched over to PM he sent all those molds to scrap.

holy witchy goodness

Mmmm! I can’t wait to get my set!

OMG Stop :open_mouth: !!!

Looks like HALLOWEEN may be a bit special this year! REALLY looking forward to placing an order for the collector’s editions. I can’t wait to get the link to toss my order in with 'ol Cochran!!

I honestly haven’t been as excited about a mask related release in quite some time. Indie or mass produced. To own a set of H3 masks directly from DP, regardless the release year, is so exciting. I can’t wait!

I’m supposed to be going to to hang with him this year for a project. He told me that most of the Vinyl stuff he has are in a facility that makes the pulls for PM and that he has about 60 vintage molds. Maybe I can beg him to run me by there…I’m still pressuring him to do a re-release of the Felix Adler and a Emmett Kelly!!!

collectors editions? were have i been?

Thats one sick copy you have there, cant wait till the new trio hit the shelf’s !

so the new 2012 hagatha paint job wont look as good as the one in the catalog picture??

I AM SO GLAD I ORDERED THESE THE OTHER DAY!!! :drinkers:
