First just wanted to say hello! I am new here and recently stumbled across the forums. For a couple of years I’ve done serviceable Michael Myers costume, Honesty it was just a pair of navy blue hand me down Coveralls from a family friend and a Halloween II mask from TOTS. I hadn’t done that costume for a couple of years, and I actually ended up selling my Halloween 2 mask.
This year I really wanted to try and do a better version, and because most of the people around me during the season usually do Halloween I or II costumes, mainly just masks and a set of Coveralls I wanted to do a Halloween 2018 version. I bought a TOTS 2018 mask which I will be getting re hauled, but now I’m looking for a pair of Coveralls.
There’s a set on Amazon that I’m looking at, and I wanted some feedback if the color and overall appearance would be correct as I also plan on doing the weathering myself. They are the Red Kap Men’s Twill Action Back Coverall in Charcoal.

These other ones are alright dont have dual pockets though.
If you get the red caps i recommend going a size up i had to reorder my h6 twice cuz they were smaller even though it was my waist size

Workrites are the authentic coveralls fyi.
Pick up some black artist oil for weathering.
Dont think the colour is correct but if you left them.out in the sun, washed them a bunch of times might look alright. Workrites are pricey.
Is there a pair I could pick up that would be closer in color and with a more correct pattern to them? I saw the other pair you had posted and wanted to pick them up as well, but I did want to try my hand at actually weathering a pair myself.
Hmmm good question , really wish they had the coveralls i got last year on amazon they were a steal. Ill do some more browsing …are you in canada or the us ? Sounds like you want accuracy. You might have to just get the workrites. But i will help you out and go digging.
Yeah, I am in the US. I would like accuracy as like I said I did a Myers costume before that was serviceable but I want something I know is accurate to the source material. I’ve been doing some digging for a good pair of Coveralls as well, and honestly I haven’t had much luck haha.
Ya amazon has more options closer to halloween unfortunately. The red kaps are close i mean once they are weathered it will be closer to the colour you need , they just dont have the flap on the one pocket like the workrites. Ill see if theres anything better i can dig up, but for the price the red caps are good.
Found these, you would have to take off one pocket flap, and two product patches… probably go with the black as it would go charcoal grayish after weathering, but the navy blue could work its like a darker navy blue … pretty damn close though once you mod it. Great success! Lol f$%%# steal at 41 bucks too.
I honestly think they could be navy just darkened up its hard to tell i know most say charcoal but im looking at some photos here and it looks like its just dark navy blue darkened up with oil colours .im sure ill be chastised if im wrong lol unless they used two different coveralls i mean look at the ends pic i know its not 2018 but looks navy blue to me. Or even the bottom pics. Could be lighting too.
Just go with the black you ll be fine just fade em up. Sorry very little sleep im scatter brained here lol. I also ramble alot when you get me going on halloween lol
Yeah honestly for the longest time I always thought the Coveralls were a blue-ish color, I can see why some do say charcoal as that seems to be the most accurate answer, maybe its to do with the lighting of certain shots but of the images shown they are more of blue color, also looking at the NECA figures they appear blue.
I did find these on eBay: Workrite FR Coveralls, what do you think about these would they also be an option, of course with some modifications.
Ya not bad, but seems like it would be more work? Funny you mentioned the Neca i was gunna include that too. I think you have some pretty good options here, i feel like the colour of the ones you just posted is too bright however. Hmm maybe not actually im just thinking out loud here , well i mean if you fade those they ill be a lighter colour i think. Tough call dude. Too bad that type of pocket wasnt on the other coveralls i found. Ya those that you posted are closer style wise. Sorry going back and forth here. Maybe dont go so crazy on washing them or fading them and then get the oil colour on there. Theres just those stupid side pocket tags that might give you trouble, i mean you could just cut them and cover with oil colour? And the button on the pocket that might leave a shitty hole. Dont know if painting ithe actual button will hide it either. Same with the wrist buttons. Could patch and sew the hole. Choices choices. Pardon my rant. Making a costume is such a chore huh? Lol ps.i should probably lay off the coffee lol hopefully im helping lol
Its not easy finding the right pair that’s for sure! The main reason I mentioned the last pair was because they’re work rite branded. I know if I get a darker navy color, I would try and lighten it up just a bit and then go for all the aging grime and stuff. Honestly I don’t mind the rant, I came here to talk to the experts so any information I can get I’m more than willing to take haha.
Thanks dude just running on fumes here. Ya right brand , little more work involved , about as close as you can get ,i mean theres really not a whole lot of other options that have the right details, whats the price? Probably pull the trigger if its decent , i mean halloween is approaching , no pressure lol are you planning on doing wounds as well? Ill keep my eye out for other pairs as well in the meantime.
