Airon Armstrong already played Myers in 2005?

Just came across this:

And here’s the fan film he was in:

Now that’s a throwback

So they chose a 6"2 200 lbs stuntman to play Nick Castle in flashback…interesting…

Yep , to be fair he’s doubling James Jude courtney. Who is another inch taller.

Also what a weird way to spell Aaron. thats my name but noones ever even mispelled it Air-on before

I bet if I showed y’all my name, you’d have a challenge trying to figure out how to say it!

One time they spelled my name Erehun WTH is that
Ive met like 13 other Aaron’s they all spelled it AA-ron

Yes. I’m really intrigued as to how the mask is going to look in the flashback scenes. When I first heard they were doing that I thought damn they should get JC to do a 98 proto for the movie hahaha :jack_o_lantern:

So strange. They hire another actor specifically for flashback scenes, but don’t stay in line with Myers’ build in 1978. And the fact that JJC is already 6’3… why did they oversize Myers when this new trilogy is supposed to be so directly connected to the original? WHY???

Hopefully it won’t be that noticeable simply because it’s a film. I doubt you’ll be able to watch 78 and the new flashback scenes and say, “oh he’s definitely taller.” Maybe so, but if that really bothers you, than you’re being too picky if I’m being honest.

Yeah it probably comes down to what’s more important, the look and feel of how he’s portrayed or the correct height, but the movements are off. Probably can’t tell too much on the screen

On screen it will not be noticed. But the thing that irks me is how simple it is to get right. It’s not HARD to match the character in stature and build and detail the grace of his gait etc. It truly isn’t. But for literally every film since H2, producers and crew have opted for a 6’2" - 6’8" Myers and it’s just absurd to me. He isn’t Jason Voorhees.

I agree with you 100 percent brother! I could go on about this all night. It is absurd

Your right, it isn’t hard to get the physical appearance right. However it may be an uphill battle against time and money to find someone who will actually play the character movements properly. He may be as close as they could get with the time and money allowed.

Camera angles and lighting are going to hide any height or weight differences. When we saw that small behind the scenes clip late last year with Lonnie running away and Michael appearing and then walking after him, it looked GREAT.

So do yourself a favor and don’t get over hyped, or NOTHING they do will be acceptable. I said this before the 2018 film came out when I saw everyone getting unbelievably over hyped for the film, and then they came back here to say how they were disappointed. Of course you were disappointed, I warned folks that if they got so over hyped that nothing would ever live up to it or be good enough.

The 2018 film is not a great Halloween film, but it’s still a good horror film to have fun with. If your over hyped and absolutely nuts to the gills with hopes and dreams, it’s a guarantee you will be let down. Just enjoy it for what it is, especially now that you know what type of world your getting with the David Gordon Green universe.

Nothing is going to capture the look and magic of the original, so I think it’s time to hang up those hopes and dreams. We know we are getting two more movies in the David Gordon Green universe, and we know the type and style that comes with it. So perhaps just go into it with your expectations framed in that universe, and you might have a more enjoyable time.

I agree with alot of the points you have made Mike . I think the problem is stems from the movies just not being good Halloween movies. You can have a “good” horror movie but that doesn’t necessarily equate to a " good Halloween " movie and I think that’s what had and has alot of ppl bummed. Like why can’t we have a good to great Halloween movie made? Why should we have to go into something new with already lowered expectations because we already know the movie is not gonna be a good Halloween movie ? I used to say it can’t be this hard to make a good Halloween movie but apparently it is because there hasn’t been a good one in over like 38 years …the hype of Carpenter coming back for the last film I’m sure sucked alot more ppl to buy into the hype of the movie but any true Halloween fan knows that Carpenter sold out a long time ago so his name attached to the film other than doing the score means nothing. I’m sure like myself and many others you are hungry to see a "GOOD HALLOWEEN " film. Hopefully one day this may actually happen🎃

I was never overbyped for 18. I did not love the new film, honestly I’m not a huge fan. I was initially hyped for the promo shots of the JTK Myers mask and the 1978 style Laurie promos on the Doyle porch. After we started getting actual promos and trailers I lost that hype as the look of Myers was not right to me. The mask had to have “it’s own spin” and a “sad look”… why? Why wasn’t it prioroity number 1 to 100% accurately recreate the mask? The physique of JJC was another thing that threw me off. And the fact that Myers was stomping heads like grapes in the vein of Halloween 6 rather than the sly, stealth attacks of the original. They can’t ever get that original SHAPE character back on film. I truly think H20 was the closest they’ve come and likely ever will again.

I understand all that you all are saying, trust me I do. We can hope and dream until we are blue in the face like the shape on a moonlit Halloween night, but we know what we are getting in this current iteration. You can either take them for what they are, or just avoid them knowing it’s not for you. You know? That’s really all we can do at the end of the day.

Couldn’t have been said in a better way! People got way too overhyped for H40, which I don’t blame them since it was a long while since another film was released, however, the overhype can lead to disappointment.

Well the hero mask wasn’t shown til after they had sculpted it already, so if they wanted to do an accurate 40 year old version now, people make them and they could just rough up a TOTS kirk for it

Dude these are my EXACT thoughts! I do feel hyped for the new film though and feel Ill enjoy it more, Other then that literally everything you said I’ve been saying myself even the H20 statement…How would Michael grow so tall old people shrink not grow taller? Shrink JJC and he wouldnt of been bad but just too big, I also saw that too that they tweaked the mask to be somewhat sadder and be their ‘‘own thing’’…Once again I feel you are correct, I do not understand why that was chosen it should’ve been close to H1 as possible…The sculpt other then the scars is not spot on or even close really… That is why I fear the flashback mask…Why would that be any closer to H1… as it will not resemble the h40 now…
