RZs H2 … 1st let me premise this with everyone that knows me knows I am mostly a JC H1 and H2 fan and everything that followed in the original series H4 thru Resurrection I watch and try and enjoy them for what they are. Having said that I have never really been vocal about liking RZ H1 here on the forum but I was fine with it and did like it. Today I went out and saw RZs H2 and just wanted to express my thoughts on it. So here we go… Overall I thought it was very BRUTAL almost too BRUTAL. In fact tooooo BRUTAL. The brutality of the kill scenes almost spoiled it for me. OVERKILL is a good word to describe most of the kill scenes. And I think they set a new record for using the word FUCK. No plot really except for the sub plots that were happening with Laurie and Annie and Dr Loomis. As for Michael he seemed to just wander around killing whoever was unlucky enough to bump into him. The use of Sheri Moons character I really could have done without I don’t know for me at least it kind of cheesed the movie out a bit. I know its a horror movie and most horror movies these days have brutality and gore. Each remake trying to out do each other in that department and RZ capitalized on that because in todays market GORE sells tickets. I am a little nervous to see a DIRECTORS CUT of this because for some SICK reason I have a feeling that they are NOT going to hit that COW in the road but instead pull off to the side and LINDAS body is going to be in the back with Michaels and those two douche bag coroner guys are going to go in the back and at least start to get busy with her dead body when Michael wakes up and kills them. I don’t know… thats just the feeling I had and thought was gonna happen while watching that scene. I wouldn’t put anything past RZ after the RAPE scene he put in his DIRECTORS CUT of the RZ H1 film. Anyway … for me atleast it was not as good as his first film but I will accept it for what its just someone else’s vision of my beloved HALLOWEEN. Mike
I agree. But you forgot add lack of suspense. There was none. Every kill was almost predictable.
true
There were no scenes where you thought “That persons going to get it” And then they didnt. Because they all did If it seemed like someone was going to get killed , they did.
Even with the predictability of the kills I still like it.
well it is a HORROR film. how hard is it to predict kill scenes when you know the movie is going to be FULL of them?
i can say the samething about most horror films ive ever seen.
I know what your saying. Of course there will be lots of deaths . But I just felt there needed to be a little more suspense.
