Amazing to see lots of greed over the 2018 mask

I charge for a 2018 $200 because it takes hours of layer after layer of dry brushing, rehairing, detailing to make a replica or whatever the customer wants, making it like the screen used mask. Paint and latex mixing, expensive brushes, airbrushing and buying camel or moehair.

I’m just being real here. If this isn’t a marketing tactic, I have no idea why you’d search for this post. I was the last comment so I got a notification….

6 YEARS LATER

And to be transparent; the same artists that were on top in 2010 are on top in 2024. James Carter and Freddy Loper have always been 1 and 2. Mike (All Hallows Ghost) has moved onto sculpting his own masks, and chooses not to work on masks that aren’t his own sculpts. If he wanted to, he’d have a crazy wait list as well.

I’d argue that 3rd place has been taken over by Rowland Kelly. Not only does he produce incredible masks through DRM (Death Row Masks) but he has done OUTSTANDING rehauls of masks from both Nightowl and NAG. He has been here forever and is TRUSTED. Michael Fadian (MDF) comes next.

The problem has become EVERYBODY is now saying they’re rehaul artists. Can anybody paint? Sure. But when we look at the eye cuts and overall appearance, nobody wants to be honest. I’m tired of it honestly. If you make money? Good for you.

$200-$250 is quite literally the going price for top artists work. Going back and actually reading the comments on this post show me the OG members are living in a different world. I guarantee that more than 75% of the people who commented have NO IDEA who the OP is.

Amy is literally infamous within the HOBBY which has been destroyed by greed for making ONE OF A KIND glass display cases. The entire point of her post was showing the difference between INDEPENDENT art and MASS-PRODUCED art.

I have no problem with whoever I’m replying to because I don’t even know you. But I can guarantee that nobody is sending you their DB2 or 2K for your work. No offense but people that care about the hobby aren’t down with the blatant greed that has been taking place. And they wouldn’t risk one of a kind masks to the hands of someone they don’t know.

If you want to do rehauls; that’s fine. Just understand this post is 6 years old and there are very few guys (like Se7enSins, Remzap) that people even want to work on the H40 trilogy masks. The reason most of us got out of the public hobby is the greed and random artists popping up.

This is a very weird post to advertise on

It’s a problem with the board. When you reach michael-myers.net before you click on general discussion, on the right hand side it says “Latest:” then lists a bunch of threads and some are very old. I just inadvertently replied to a thread from a year ago about mineral spirits because it was at the top of “latest.”
I assume he saw the title, assumed it was new then replied without reading it.

This is only the case with Pinned Threads, my friend. Anything with “1y, 2y, 5y” are all Stickied to help navigate and some with other helpful information. You will see the little :pushpin: on the left side. But once you go beneath all the stickies, you should see everything as normal as it was before the updates. It should be in order for you.

I only replied as this is the second time this has bappened. Both were in regards to mask overhauls of TOTS masks. It wasn’t the same person, but definitely from the search tab it seems people find relevant threads to comment and advertise on which kinda makes it difficult for newer membere especially to navigate (the admittedly more confusing layout) after Dawn updared from phpBB. Not a huge deal but figured I’d give a proper response this time

I’m not advertising period, I don’t need to
I’m just explaining why people charge what they charge. And I was just showing why….
Also I started back in 2017 thinking it would be fun to redo masks for people who wanted a better looking, closer to the movies, more detailed mask. Had no idea it was a thing until 2019.
And I didn’t notice it was 6 years ago thread, it just popped up. So I figured I’d comment,
