Another Dick Warlock question

I was wondering what Dick’s most dangerous stunt was taking into account all the movies he has been in. For years I have always paid attention to the credits at the end of films and see Dick’s name pop up. Actually it’s funny I was watching “Fletch” the other day and Dick did a stunt in that movie. I think it might have been towards the end and he possibly crashed a patrol car?

Anyway the funny thing was that George Wilbur was also credited in Fletch. I also wondered how much CGI has affected stunt people in the business.

I think they should go back to using stuntmen because very action scene nowadays look horrible, and you can tell its CGI.

very true :frowning:

My guess would be stunts that include “FIRE” and the end of H2 when Michael comes walking out on fire looked very dangerous. It will be interesting to hear Mr. Warlock let us know for himself which stands out in his mind. Good thread. Mike

I did a email interview with Dick a few years back for my Halloween fan website. He stated that the fire walk was indeed one of his most dangerous stunts, as well as a stunt he did for a tv show in which he had to be suspended from a bridge. He also stated that the stunts in Escape From NY “could have been done so much better” in his oppionion, and that he regretted being (or working not sure which) on a film titled HOTS. As far as stuntmen go, he stated that no one wants to use very many of them any more due to CGI as well as residuals for the actors. He claimed that he still gets large cheques to this day everytime JAWS or another film he has worked in appears on tv. Why pay the money over and over again and also risk life and limb when CGI makes it so much easier?
