Warren County’s Sheriff Brackett here with a few cool movie trailers from the vault o’ Myers. A long time ago before the Myers mask scene exploded the majority of Halloween fans collected memorabilia in the form of posters, lobby cards, etc. A friend and I collected movie trailers. This friend, named Mike, had some cool video editing software (cool for 1995) so we combined every old trailer from the HalloweeN series we had collected over the years into what he called a TRAILER ARCHIVE! The old VHS has about 20 or so trailers for each film 1 - 6 and a large portion of the trailers are short TV spots made by national and local stations when they were airing TV versions of the HalloweeN films. I found the trailer archive the other night and thought I’d share a few of my favorites from the tape
When I found the VHS the first thing I thought of was the single best HalloweeN one trailer I have ever seen. It’s been so long so I cannot tell you where the trailer was used other than on a television airing of HalloweeN one. I LOVE the use of the BOC song. This is my personal all time favorite trailer on the tape. it all just works so well.
As far as the next two trailers, I think they are just theatre trailers and I’m sure there are much better quality ones out there. Still, I wanted to share them. I dig the audio edits of the H2 trailer. They so don’t fit. Not because I’ve seen the film and know the sounds, but they just don’t fit what’s on screen. In particular, Mrs. Elrod’s scream is awesome. Awwwgghhhhhaaaaaa!
I made my girlfriend watch the tape earlier and during this one I thought “I bet this is the first time a movie trailer showed the ending of the movie.”
Only five more months 'til Halloween!
