Another set of goodies from the VHS vault o' Myers..

Warren County’s Sheriff Brackett here with a few cool movie trailers from the vault o’ Myers. A long time ago before the Myers mask scene exploded the majority of Halloween fans collected memorabilia in the form of posters, lobby cards, etc. A friend and I collected movie trailers. This friend, named Mike, had some cool video editing software (cool for 1995) so we combined every old trailer from the HalloweeN series we had collected over the years into what he called a TRAILER ARCHIVE! The old VHS has about 20 or so trailers for each film 1 - 6 and a large portion of the trailers are short TV spots made by national and local stations when they were airing TV versions of the HalloweeN films. I found the trailer archive the other night and thought I’d share a few of my favorites from the tape :exclamation:

When I found the VHS the first thing I thought of was the single best HalloweeN one trailer I have ever seen. It’s been so long so I cannot tell you where the trailer was used other than on a television airing of HalloweeN one. I LOVE the use of the BOC song. This is my personal all time favorite trailer on the tape. it all just works so well. :prayer:

As far as the next two trailers, I think they are just theatre trailers and I’m sure there are much better quality ones out there. Still, I wanted to share them. I dig the audio edits of the H2 trailer. They so don’t fit. Not because I’ve seen the film and know the sounds, but they just don’t fit what’s on screen. In particular, Mrs. Elrod’s scream is awesome. Awwwgghhhhhaaaaaa! :open_mouth:

I made my girlfriend watch the tape earlier and during this one I thought “I bet this is the first time a movie trailer showed the ending of the movie.”

Only five more months 'til Halloween!

Thank you so much for finding that Blue Oyster Cult Tv promo. I remember watching that and loving it. I think that was from the USA network.

THANK YOU! Seeing these trailers again is beyond cool! All of them really convey the intensity of these films. I like being reminded of a time when it was just the original, H2, H3–and how damn scary these films were in their day.

I remember being at a movie theater in the early 80s and seeing one of those giant cardboard displays promoting coming movies.
It was for Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
Wish I had that now.
It looked very much like this image.

I remember those too… the one for H4 was awesome.

The H3 trailer is cool as hell :sunglasses:

Would love to see the teaser for the 2nd airing of H1 on NBC.
The one with Dr. Demension saying,“Lock your doors, bolt your windows and turn of the lights!!”.
That scared me when I was kid.

Haha that H2 trailer was brutal, felt like I watched the whole movie.
Wish I could of seen H3 in the theater. Thanks for those.

haha…Speaking of that. I can do that guys voice pretty good…

so cool man, I dig them times…

I love how upbeat the first one is, haha. it’d really get me excited to know it was coming up next
