Antique Knife Identification?

I found this digging through some old antiques in the attic and stumbled upon this knife. Can’t really find any marking or identification on it but it looks pretty old and antique, wish I could say maybe I have an original H1 knife but I doubt it lol looks a lot like it though

Difficult to come to any definitive conclusion. Knife makers were copying each other with the aid of geographical immunity back then. It’s difficult to police patents across seas and while at war. The French style chef’s knife was the quintessential kitchen knife offered around the world for more than a century at least. Germany, US, France, and Britain all had major knife makers making this style knife.

Unfortunately, I can say with confidence that it is not a Case. Nor is it a Sabatier, Henckels, F. Dick, etc. In fact, I don’t think it’s from overseas.

It looks to have many of the hallmarks of either a Lamson, or Dexter. My money would be on Lamson.

It’s a great knife, man, and an absolute awesome way to find one. What a story! Congrats on the score!

I asked my mom about it but I’m honestly not sure if I believe her but it could be true, she was saying it was my great grandpas and could of came from the 30’s but I’m not sure if knives even looked like this that long ago lol

Its not a case and sons like the original knife. the handle is too flat it doesnt have the smooth bevels on the edges of the handle.

It looks like it could be made by cut-co, or maybe a dexter knife

Looks like a Dexter, the handle is nowhere near close to a Case knife
