Last year I put together a full size Myers mannequin for the first time. I was using a TOTS H40 mask that was actually a pretty nice copy that was straight off the shelf of Party City. I was using a mannequin that I purchased from Amazon, and I was able to squeeze an actual 8" kitchen knife inside the mannequin’s hands. It was a real knife I had bought at Target. I placed my Myers on the porch and it was a hit with trick or treaters. That said, I got nervous because some of kids wanted to take pictures with it, and many came way too close to the knife even after I warned them about it.
I decided there is no way I could risk anyone getting hurt this time around. I am looking for a prop style replica knife that resembles the knife from Halloween 2018. I don’t really care too much for the TOTS plastic version because it’s just not as realistic as I was hoping for. Anyone know where I can find a nice looking, perhaps aluminum version anywhere?
I could make you an aluminum knife for cheap, it wouldnt take long its only an 8" blade
Here are some of the knives Ive made, all steel but blunted and dulled for safety
some WIP 1978 knives, a Halloween 6 knife etc
Aluminum is even better because it can be thicker but weigh alot less than steel in the same thickness
