Grabbed some old myers masks of ebay for cheap, and opon arrivel, found out that they were rotting (latex super soft and stretchy). I’ve looked online for ways to fix this, but have had no luck so far. Any fix to this?

Grab some clear Plasti-Dip from Menards or wherever. It won’t fix it of course but it could prevent it from getting any worse. Good luck!

Agree ! I’ve used it on rotting masks and they haven’t progressed in their rotting since. I would also suggest spraying aerospace 303 protectant inside and wiping it down with a dry cloth. Let dry for a while then use the plastidip

Thanks for the advice! Any way I can get the masks back to their original shapes? I’ve tried using a hair dryer to melt them into shape, but with no luck. Also, is it safe to store a rotting mask next to a non rotting mask?

The only way to get them into anything close to their original shape would be to send them to someone who specialises in this. More than less what you have here is ‘plasticization’ This is when the chemicals/fillers used in the latex begin to plasticise which creates a ‘‘melting’’ like effect. This type of rot usually is a chemical reaction that is started with heat.
Applying heat to re-shape a mask is fine when it’s vinyl…but not Latex. Never.
And a mask that is breaking down, will be fine and not affect a mask next to it.

Rubber protectant like Aerospace 303 and similar ilk is your best bet.

What’s up everyone!? Awesome Masks! I think they look really cool aged and slightly different from their original form, maybe keep the look of them AND get the longevity you seek as they look more menacing & unique! LOVE different stuff, why be the same?
