Anybody Weather Their Big Mac H4 Coveralls??

I have two pairs of Big Mac grey fisher stripe coveralls and was wondering the best way to weather them. Anybody ever weather a pair? In pics they look so weathered you can barely make out that they are grey striped

I’ve never weathered them but Kurse Custom Weathering would definitely make those look like the one in the pics you see for H4

I would not recommend drying them, possibly not even machine washing them. That did something to the fabric of mine, wasn’t a fan of how rough it became.

I weathered mine yeah. They look more blue in this picture than they are though.

I did machine was and dry them. They are stiff as hell! I was going to wash again with fabric softener.

They turned out great shape!! May I asked what medium you used to get the effect??

Spray paint and then I did a wash to remove stiffness.

Did you use flat or satin? Just black? Also did you do an all around effect?

I just used satin I did it heavier in areas where you see in that photo, and light mist/sanding on the light areas

OK GS I’m going to give your weathering method a shot. So you used just satin black? No other colors? And did you do the back just as you did the front? If so did you do less weathering on the back? Thanks Shape!

Just satin black, yep! I did the front and back, I just took that photo before I finished them. I did relatively light weathering on the back, using these photos for reference:

What spray paint did you guys use??

Any black spray paint will do

I think matte black makes for a better “dried used oil” look, myself.

Here’s boots that have real dried oil on them:

And here’s boots I used matte black spray paint on to look like dried oil:

I used the same type of paint to achieve the oil stained look on my RZ coveralls:

Instead of using sraypaint I used rit charcoal grey fabric dye, and black fabric paint for the grime on the knees/etc.
This way its not starchy like spraypaint. Heres a before and after pic showing the dye results.

You can also use the powder fabric dye like Rit or Tintex, for greys just use half the ammount of the black dye

They started out baby blue, now there really dingy looking but are as soft as before
