For some reason I’ve been thinking about this movie for the last week or so… Thinking about it, it was actually a good movie, not great, but had some good creepy moments in it… I liked the idea of Myers in the Carruthers house with Rachel, basically watching her until it was time to kill… The scene with Myers watching Tina from the Carruthers front window was pretty good, had a good spooky feeling about it… The Halloween party at the tower-farm was also good, the baryard part with Myers killing the two teenagers was eerie.
Like I said, not to bad… of course the the clown noises with the two cops was just stupid, and the Myers house was far to big.
Halloween 4 and 5 gave me such a feeling of it being Halloween when I was 14-17 so I love both very much. I know most everyone hates the mask but I actually love it just as much as the H2 and H4 masks.
H4 and H5 have serious Halloween feel to them, I like H5’s “feel” but those damn dumb cops, the mask, and Loomis being more insane than Michael really ruined it.
It’s a good film, but compared to the others, it’s 1 of my least favorite, although this year for some reason, i appreciate it much more. Some bad points were:
The complete difference in the myers house annoys me to no end
the sound effects they use with the cops
the lack of explanation on the man in black, tina, billy, and the hermet
nothing against Don Shanks, but the way he wore the costume wasnt great. the coveralls were messed up, which made the mask look worse. and him holding the knife up when he was just walking seemed akward
It’s one of my favorite sequels. Right now, I’d give it a 7 out of 10. Take away the clown cop music and Billy, and I’d give it a 9. Those are the only big flaws to me.
I love that movie. True the cop noises were and still are stupid as shit, but the feeling of dred is all over that film. I love the dark moodiness of it and Michael was so much more intimidating then he was in four. I also like the mask alot,though I think the ears are a bit to low. The whole end Myers house scene when he is stabbing at Jamie in the duct gets me every time. I think if the man in black thing and the cop noises and stupid cops at that were somehow edited out it would be great to say the least.
I love all the Halloween movies and like Dern said 4 and 5 in particular give me a special feeling about Halloween in general because those were the ones I watched the most when I was younger.
I love it! I think the mask is soooooooooo fuckin’ awesome. I know everyone hates it, but I thought it was great and it totally gave me a “Halloween 1989” feeling to it, 1989 was the best year of the 80’s!
As far as the mask goes----- one of my favorites, I fail to see why anyone would hate it…

I dont hate any Halloween films either. Except for RZ’s H2. I hated it but the mask in the beginning is cool. His first Halloween was okay but H2 just…terrible In H5 the cops thing was stupid. That was something that should be in ANOES films. Not Halloween.
‘Halloween 5’ sucks beyond reason. It’s absolutely atrocious. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. ‘Halloween 4’ was a miracle - in being a very solid sequel that doesn’t re-invent the wheel, but stands its ground and delivers for what it is. It genuinely has a nice Halloween feel to it.
‘Halloween 5’ completely ruined the solid rebirth achieved by ‘Halloween 4’.
nah i don’t really care for it. I mean i like all the halloweens but watching it on amc last night was the first time in 3yrs since i saw it and i can’t say i’ll watch it again anytime soon. Its one of those movies where you tell your friend how cool something is and then you get a feeling of embarrasment when you watch it with them. In other words i kinda destroys everything that made halloween great.
Yeah, I like it alot…and the mask is definitely one of my favs of the series, it has kind of a pi**ed off look to it… I think !!! The only Halloween movie out of the series that…I really do not care much for is… Resurrection !!!
I have mixed feelings about it. It came out when I was young so I had to have it in my collection and I grew to love it. One thing i hated more than anything was the mystery guy in black boots they never explained and it took almost 10 years for a sequel, that killed me.
I love the grittyness of the movie and the masks that were in it as well, I loved Danielle Harris in it too, I have always had a crush on her when I was young.
There were a lot of elements that were shown differently in it that I like and hate at the same time.
The cops were clowns and didnt show concern as law enforcement
There was a part in the movie that drove me CRAZY, Tina is in the car with whom she think is her boyfriend, and she says “Nothing Mike thats what I get, Nothing!” But you can clearly see that her mouth says something completely different and it has been dubbed over, that pisses me off. They could have redone the shot ya know, did anyone else see this? What the hell did she really say?
But I could go on forever about this, plainly, i like it better than i hate it, but the mask was something i have always loved, and a SSN H5 Shanks is being shipped to me as we speak finally!!!
