So, I don’t have any desire to dress up as Art or own anything screen accurate, really, but let me just say that Terrifier 2 was insane! It was over 2.5hrs, I was exhausted and I still didn’t want it to end. It flowed well, the characters were likable and there was some (one in particular) ridiculous kills! Even the lore they’re setting up, while totally over-the-top just makes you want more when the credits roll.
The last few months I’ve seen almost 30 movies at the theater and while some (Nope, Black Phone, Orphan 2) were totally solid, not since Maverick have I really seen anything that I REALLY needed to see a 2nd time. I’ll being seeing T2 again for sure!
I can’t believe and am beyond thrilled it’s done like $7M! Think this goes to show that people were either starving for good horror or just so entrenched in Jason Blum garbage they forgot what horror was. In any event, good for everyone involved. Looking forward to T3!
I will say I enjoyed Terrifier 2.
I’m actually not a fan of disgusting amounts of gore, but in the movie’s defense, it makes it feel like a genuinely shocking, modern horror film. Like it’s creepy, suspenseful, and truly horrific to watch. I also really appreciate the retro vibe.
When it comes to slashers, Michael Myers is at my top. But letting Terrifier 2 soak in, I’m beginning to think he may be my number 2 guy. It certainly beats Jason and Freddy, at least for me. Leatherface would probably be my number 3; I’m still trying to decide between him and Art.
