Very cool! Thanks for the heads up!

i like the TV version very much, makes a change from seeing the Theatrical version and i prefer the Marshall Kill in this version.

Thanks for sharing man. …ANDY

Thanks for sharing man!! Great find! :drinkers:

I’m not crazy about HII to begin with but I can definitely say I’m glad this atrociously edited version is not the theatrical version. Most of the visual editing is so broken. One example is the Elrod scene. I actually prefer the way Michael enters the door and appears to approach Mrs. Elrod in this alternate version, but then it randomly cuts to the therapy room shot of Michael, and then back to Mrs. Elrod screaming. Multiple scenes are guilty of reusing/rehashing footage.

Most of the musical cues are reused too many times & at what feels inappropriate times, along with background music being absent in some scenes or used during inappropriate moods e.g. “The Shape Stalks” theme plays while Mr. Garrett is looking in the storage room (as rehashed footage of Michael stalking Laurie later on is strangely crammed into this scene) or when Dr. Loomis forces the marshal to turn the car around, there is a “Shape kill” stinger/“cattle-prod” (normally reserved only for when Michael kills someone)… two examples of many.

A lot of the extra scenes are a fascinating bonus having watched HII so many times but most of them make it quite clear why they hit the cutting room floor, they are just terrible & mostly pointless dialogue e.g. Dr. Mixter’s drunken rambling or Jimmy forcibly pinning Laurie to the bed and shouting for sedation just because Laurie feels Michael is still alive, she is not physically lashing out in anyway (although that scene also shows the power going out, which is never portrayed in the original release (I don’t think so?)). I also love how there’s just a random shot of Laurie getting her clothes stripped off when getting admitted; completely unnecessary.

I do want to say thanks for posting this, though. Although bad in my opinion, I’m still glad to have seen it & its differences! Alternate shots are always a little treat for those who’ve seen a movie so many times, good or bad. Most of the extra scenes were cool to see on the outside, but ultimately it’s clear they are pointless. I guess most converted-to-TV movies get butchered like this, so it’s not unexpected treatment as far as the editing goes. On the positive side, you see a few alternate shots of Michael as well as Dr. Loomis so that is naturally a plus.

The same YouTube user also has these other alternate movie versions available for viewing, although H20 cannot be seen in USA because of copyright claims or whatnot. I’m gonna check out HIII.

Halloween III TV version

Halloween H20 extended

I found it completely necessary.

But seriously, many good points you make. I’m also glad this was not the theatrical version. Just a terribly edited film.

Mark

 Can’t blame you, Mark! I’m sure many male Jamie Lee fans will agree on that :stuck_out_tongue:

Bummer, no bonus/alternate scenes in the HIII TV version :frowning: Strictly just some light editing of violence & gore.

Various, old Halloween holiday commercials from back in the day were included so those made up for it
