As the Halloween season quickly approaches I’ve begun to assemble my own '78 Myers costume. However, I’m really stumped on the coveralls. I’m trying to make it as screen accurate as possible but the grey Sears Tradewear coveralls rarely, if ever pop up on eBay. Any other good, easily accessible, and decently accurate H1 coveralls? Can’t find Big Macs anywhere either so maybe some Red Kaps? New to the hobby so forgive my ignorance. Appreciate the help!

Big Mac, Montgomery wards are great, but depending on your size they are not easily accessible.

What is the legit colour of the 78 coveralls?? Dark blue? Or spruce green?
Unknown, Green can look Blue, Blue can look Green, Charcoal can be both. Just get Charcoal IMO, it can pull of both looks.

Sorry for the late replies! Been busy with work. Unfortunately, I’m pretty short so a size 38. Worst luck you could have when you want to cosplay Myers lol I could possibly size up to a 40 if needed though. I can’t find many Big Macs that are 38-40 which is the main problem I run into, although there is currently a grey size 40R pair on eBay I’ve been eyeing.
Red Kap is what I’m eyeing the most, I just can’t decide what color. Where I live Halloween takes place earlier in the day while it’s lighter out so I’m concerned the spruce green will show up much brighter. The charcoal grey color that is advertised on Amazon looks like a very light grey so I don’t know exactly how they’ll look in person. So if anyone has a pair, I’d really appreciate some pictures of it. Thanks again for all the replies as well, they’re very helpful.

You’re right sadly. Before I was trying to put a more screen accurate costume together I used 38R navy blue Dickies and those were pretty baggy which I hated. I was curious if sizing down to 36 would take care of that but that doesn’t seem to be the case now that you mentioned it. I’ve heard Red Kaps run smaller though.
They’re not bad on me, my Montgomery Wards are 44s, and I can actually pad them out to look bigger

Got a pair of spruce and charcoal Red Kaps recently. Which color looks best? (Spruce on the left-charcoal on the right) I’m thinking a weathered charcoal will look best for an H1 look while Spruce fits a lot better for H2. I’m honestly super color blind so analyzing screen caps have been no help. On the blu ray during the schoolyard scene, I see a dark gray color rather than a dark green.
Go with the green, and fade it, once you weather it up, it should look like this, the prints of the films always mess up the colours
