Best artist to rehaul a NAG Flashback?

Hey guys, I posited this question to the Discord but I’m pooling my options to see what all I can come up with before making a decision:

I adore my NAG HK FB mask, I really do, but the paintjob and hair aren’t accurate. They are REALLY really good, but I want to get it as close to the hero or even the stunt mask as close as possible, a full repaint and rehair.

I was gonna go with TheBoogeymanBrad for both, but he said to ask CCN for the paintjob, but CCN is no longer doing orders due to IRL circumstances. I asked Jimmy Falco, and while his own FB mask is excellent, the paintjob isn’t exactly hero, nor is the hair, at least to my eyes, but it’s still a wonderful mask and craftsmanship. I also worry I might be adding too much to his plate with the new 3DK and I don’t want to overbear an artist.

Rody on Discord mention Ryan/SLFX who has done rehauls of the FB but the hair again looks 78, not trilogy. Though the paintjob is really solid! I wouldn’t mind sending the mask to one artist for paint and another for hairing, so long as it’s not a complicated process of course.

What do you guys think? Who do you think can get me AS close to hero/stunt paint and hair? I saw the stunt at Sugarmynt and took a lot of images and I just fell in love with it. I really want to pool my options and better yet, I’m ready to pay upfront thanks to holiday money!

SLFX would be my suggestion, can you post the pics you took of the mask?

Im at work so these may not be ideal but here

Is it better to contact SLFX through Insta or Facebook?

Personally I think it looks great as is. The hair is proper with very nice shading. I can see the right eye needing a bit of adjusting. If Rowland Kelly is up for it, I’d opt for him. This seems to just need a little TLC. I’m not sure what you’re after but the paint does look true to the film. If ya want a different hair fiber, then you could go for that. But this styled would look great.

But yeah Rowland #1, Freddy Loper #2. That’d be who I go to specifically to fix these eye cuts and just give it a minor touch up. Isn’t even worth mentioning JC because you’ll pay an extra $1k for nothing or die on a waitlist lol.

Sorry I just reread your post and see you’ve said you want a new paint up in entirely. But you said “either stunt or hero”. I guess the distinction is what would make me opt for one artist over another. I saw you aren’t a fan of Jimmy’s finishing. Are you looking for that stark white Hero or a bit of shading?

SLFX is an option but wouldn’t be my first. Same with the H40 craze building up artists we’d never even seen before. Some people have that one talent or sculpt while others don’t. I believe DRM has proven to be able to do stark white, shading, etc, etc. I would 100% look at people’s portfolio to make sure they do what you want. For guaranteed perfection, JC exists, but isn’t close to worth it for a finished mask already in hand.

Yeah I’d opt for Rowland. Freddy is a great option but if you’re going stark then I think DRM is the right direction. SLFX isn’t a bad option and if pricing is reasonable go for it. Just my 2 cents on proven artists in this hobby.

I’d go with Roland

I actually got Blockbuster Collectables to do it! I sent him a plethora of images I took of the stunt at Sugarmynt as well as a few other pics from someone else who got HQ snaps and as many hd shots of the Hero as possible

Should be painted in a few weeks! Then off to get movie accurate hair!

As for Rowland, Im saving up to get an H2 from him so not all is lost!
