Best coveralls for a H1 look?

Last year I was Myers from H20, and this year I plan on pulling off an H1 Myers. I have the mask, but the coveralls are a pretty tough decision for me.

I know the actual ones in Halloween 1978 were spruce green, and there was an overlay over the film that made them look navy blue at nighttime as well as the natural lighting that made them look that way as well.

I know spruce green would look great at night, but during the day I would want to get some of that bluish look in there too, and not have them look completely green. Sort of a more turquoise colored spruce green like the movie had.

I have been looking at brands and I know that the big mac coveralls aren’t available anymore, so I was leaning towards red kaps because of the price range and the fact that red kaps are used for lots of other myers costumes as well as charcoal ones being used for H20.

So, can anyone help me solve my dilemma? Which brand of coveralls should I get for an accurate looking H1 costume? Would the red kaps be the best way to go?

Reeds are a good,cheap, alternative…

I have reeds this year. Really pleased with the look and overall fit.

They are pretty much accurate and easy to buy. I’ve found Red kaps also run a size under and Reeds are more true to size as well.

Idk what size you wear but former member crimson ghost ebay name murdercapitoloftheworld is selling a blue set of big macs 48R on ebay right now for $65.
I just bought his 48Rs I’ve been looking for for over 5 years.
Red Kaps, Reeds, Wrangler Big Bens, or even better if you can find them Roebucks, will all give you the look buddy! Good luck

Yeah I got two pair of reeds to check the size for 45 bucks.
Sent the pair that didn’t fit back ?:d

Are Reeds still made or more of an ebay find?

I’m pretty sure you can still buy Reeds new. Always check ebay for big macs as they pop up from time to time.
Red Kaps are another option. Good luck

Don, I grabbed that other set of big macs haha. I was just about to get the green ones but apparently you snagged them, right from under me. Lol

I like the way the reeds look, I will choose between either those or the kaps.

I got mine off ebay from a seller in my state - they were both new in the package.
They have enough give but are tight, and the zipper goes down below the waist so they are easy to get off.

Here is a pic of me wearing a pair of 40R’s. I’m 5’10 and 170ish. 33 inch waist. Pretty much a true medium.

I decided on reeds. 42x31, same size I had last year. I like the look of them, looks accurate.

CHARCOAL is the Color for H1! i got Reeds too but i bleached and dye them to get that charcoal sprucegreen navy look !

Yeah I think they aren’t just one color, they are probably a combination of olivewood, charcoal, and spruce green so nothing you can get will instantly look screen accurate, but olivewood, charcoal, spruce green, or navy will pass for a good looking h1. Navy and spruce green are good for looking like how he did in the dark which is why I chose spruce green so I could get that bluish green look that he has for most of the night time parts. I feel as long as you’re in the blue/green spectrum you’ll look golden, because the lighting makes things tricky and sometimes spruce green looks really blue and sometimes it looks really green and sometimes it looks navy. Spruce Green gives you the best bet which is why I chose to get reed spruce green (as well as the fact that the breast pocket is accurate as well with the ones used in H1, a good cheaper alternative)

The Funny think about to be screen accurate is that no body on the street will check it! haha  Like ohh cool jason mask or hey i saw the movie but whats the name of the killer xD

…but we myers hard-fans know how we should look like!

I was at my local GoodWill a couple weeks ago and saw a pair of coveralls that I just KNEW were THE color.
They were the absolute PERFECT color for H1. Too bad they couldn’t have been any further off design-wise, lol.
They were indeed a mix of green, blue, and grey. Very neutral and not very pretty.
It was a strange color for sure, but I had this weird 6th sense that it was the right shade.
They were of the time period too. I wonder if it was just a common “mechanics’ uniform” color in the '70s.

Charcoal redkaps do the job for me

These are a 44 r I’m 5,11 158lbs any idea on how to shrink them a bit also are these H1 accurate?

yes I think it just has to be reasonably accurate, people just look at the mask, I got these brand new pair of Dickies for 8 Euros, an Amazon offer just for size 48, many ex Myers Cosplay told me it’s very good during the con, considering how hard it is to find these kind of coveralls in Europe.

I think you should go with Reeds they have more accurate pocket shape of the Sears brand in 1978.
They come in spruce green and charcoal.
Redkaps are great too some thing you should know, they run a size small if your 40reg buy a 42 reg.
The collar is on the small side when popped up, and the pockets have no pocket square/flap.
But they do come in green and charcoal and even H4 and H5 fisher stripes
