Best hair

Please excuse someone who is still learning these things. What is generally considered the best hair on a Myers mask? Mohair, Yak, I have even heard of “superhair” that sounds super duper  I know what I like when I see it, and I know what I don’t like. I don’t like the hair used on the old DP 85 masks for instance, too poofy. So I would assume that the most expensive hair is the best, but I don’t know the terminology for the different kinds of hair…

Alot of people use camel but it can be puffy if applied to thick.I like mohair from coppermoose.Just make sure and get roving fiber.

What kind of hair did CGP and Crypt Co. use like on the Fear and the Warlock? I like that hair.

Yeah exactly, I like the way the hair was styled on those masks. Sometimes pictures can fool me, maybe it’s in the way that hair is styled and whether or not hairspray was used. Your Warlock and actually your 10/31 are the kind of hair I like.

Yeah…it’s awesome hair and I don’t have a clue what kind it is

right on then, I’m sure another helpful person will come along and identify what kind of hair that is. To be honest I look at the hair almost as much as the mask itself and I really like that style

when the Fear mask first came out it had option of Camel or Alpaca hair. the Alpaca was drak Chacolate color.
as far as ‘super hair’ i have no idea what it is or for sure how it got its name. it sounds like it would be very durable and hold a huge boulder up with one strand :stuck_out_tongue:
seriously im biggest fan of mohair as it is very soft and holds shape rather well.

I’m sure I have one and just don’t know it, but can you show me a mask with Mohair?

I have always wanted to make a post about different hair types and asked for pictures as a reference… I was just afraid to look stupid.
The only hair I know exactly what it is and looks like is camel hair. Could anyone tell me what type of hair is on the HSS H9 and the HSS RZH2 masks? I really like that type of hair… it’s very easy to style. And I apologize smdm if I am taking attention away from your original post.

“I have always wanted to make a post about different hair types and asked for pictures as a reference… I was just afraid to look stupid.”

Oh, ok dude, so just wait until I look stupid to bring it up :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s funny, and don’t worry about it, I don’t mind looking stupid. I truly want to know the differences and what place would be better to ask than this? Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people  :drinkers: and since people tend to take things the wrong way on the internet sometimes…when I say stupid, I mean myself  You didn’t take anything from this thread and thanks for replying, I’m glad I’m not the only one who wants to know.

well put my friend. But I wasn’t saying you look stupid lol.
I just see all these amazing masks with all different kinds of hair types and am just so interested in finding out exactly what each hair type is and looks like.
Bringin this up makes me think that someone needs to post a tutorial for “noobs” about hair types

Exactly dude, that’s why I posted that long winded rant. I was just messing around, I knew you weren’t calling me stupid. Sometimes people that don’t know everything are frowned upon or ignored. Everyone has to start somewhere, and it’s the people that really get it that pass on what they know without being condescending

i still consider myself new to this site as I havn’t been here long at all. Tinkering around here and there, you really learn a lot of things really quick. it’s just all these different hair types that’s been hard to grasp, and it’s frustrating. This is a great topic you brought up, and it’d be great if someone could chime in with some help. :sunglasses:

Right on then, there are a lot of cool people on this board, I’m sure some others will chime in on the subject with their own knowledge. That’s what it’s all about

Here are some masks rehaired with super hair. If anyone wants a mask rehaired with it PM me. After owning masks with 75 Kirk hair this is the only type I’ve found that replicates the physical properties of the original hair… It mattes, frizzes and looks exactly like 75 Kirk hair. The only differnce as far as I can tell is the staple (length of the fiber) is not as long and it’s not as course.

close ups of CC Warlock rehair…

I like crepe on some applications and mohair on others. But as a whole, my special prepped mohair seems to best replicate the vintage Kirk hair that I have for reference. Here’s some mohair with the TLW sprayed treatment, my favorite.

Mohair

crepe undyed yet

Not stupid all…Well I hope not.lol
I did a topic on camel once.
Didn’t seem too popular though
