My vote…. Halloween 2 1981
Love H2 but have to choose H1 for this
H2 for sure.
So the Halloween 2 soundtrack has always been a favorite of mine for that nice synth sound that in my opinion just makes it even more creepy. However the Halloween 3 soundtrack beats it out for me just slightly. Of course I’m only rating this based on listening to the soundtracks and not lumping what I think of the movies into it. This is purely based on what my ears hear through the speakers.
With that said, I still put the original 1978 soundtrack at the top. It’s what started it all. Iconic.
Aside from that, I currently have 4 all time favorite soundtracks in this franchise. They are in this order:
- Halloween 1978
- Halloween 3
- Halloween 2 1981
- Halloween Ends
Regardless if you hate Halloween Ends or not, it doesn’t take away from the fact that in my opinion John Carpenter created one of his best scores yet for this movie. As a standalone soundtrack to simply listen to, it’s great. As a collection of music on its own, it can definitely stand on its own legs.
That’s where I’m at with it.
Halloween. I really dig Halloween 2’s soundtrack, as well.
YUP!!
Another vote for Halloween II 1981.
Carpenter’s music for the original film is the absolute best. The re-recording he did for the soundtrack is nowhere as classic.
I also love the score for H2 and H3. The scores for the Green trilogy are fun, too, but not great.
I would have to go with Halloween 2 1981, Halloween 2018, and Halloween Ends on top three soundtracks
Did you see that the 40th anniversary soundtrack uses the music tracks directly as heard in the film?
For me it’s
H3
H1
H4
I agree
My favorite soundtracks are 1-4. I like the simplicity of H1’s soundtrack, I like the dark, gothic vibe of H2 and H3’s soundtracks, and I like the chilling, atmospheric sound of H4’s soundtrack.
