Best permanent blood to use on a stainless steel knife...

Hey All,

I just picked up a 12" blade stainless steel knife, and I’m looking to bloody it up realistically and put it in display… I attached a pic ofthe knife to this post.

I figured I would find a bunch of posts on that in these forums, but, surprisingly, I can’t.

Thanks in advance,

Matt!

Perma-blood or something similar.

Red and blue food coloring plus clear epoxy. Red food coloring is too bright alone, which is why u add just the tiniest bit of blue.

Monster makers sells a fantastic dye that you can mix with epoxy.

Permablood is awesome!

Yep, that it is. I used some on this knife around five months ago and it still looks nice and juicy

That’s… Beautiful!

Thanks for all of the tips!

On my RZ knives, I would spray paint the blades with a dark grey, wipe, and repeat until I was satisfied with the “aged” look. Then I used a mix of red food coloring and liquid Hawaiian punch additive, and used that over the blade. The Hawaiian Punch additive adds depth and texture to the blood.

Nice! How does it dry? Tacky? Hard?

Would permablood new a good choice to paint onto some horror figurines that I need to “gore-up?”

It’ll bloody up whatever you need it to . Clothes, masks, figurines, props, busts, ect. The only thing I wouldn’t use it on is skin. :sunglasses:

It’s a bit like how paint dries: tacky, then hardens.

This permanent blood on the knifes looks really realistic, very interesting to see this kind of knife, if this knife was out for selling i wanna get one of this kind,
