Thank you yep that’s def it in background. Wonder if this car collector somehow got this car from new movie…either that or he got original and REALLY LUCKY…Time will tell
Not gonna debate it it def looks like it…I was just saying I thought people meant there was a clear pic of the whole thing being in the background not just tail lights and a trunk haha…but that does appear to be it
Not to rain on anybody’s parade, but any car fan with a bit of know-how and the right amount of interest can take an old 70s era station wagon, install a cage in the backseat, and have it repainted in the right colors by an auto shop. It doesn’t even have to be in good or running condition. There’s whole clubs out there dedicated to doing all kinds of fan vehicles, many of which can be damn convincing to the originals. The only way to be sure is to corroborate the vehicle history along with any auction/proof of sale papers and have them checked against the dealership rental papers from the production of the movie.
This is exactly why I’m a skeptic that a reality show claims to have found the real car, they’d need to do a proper analysis rather than a word of mouth and showimg a “coa” cause even those get faked
it looks more like the metal from a dog crate now after I watched that its weak/shoddy looking
there is big gaps between the side windows and the cage, someone could squeeze through that easy.
its not fit that well, even on the top of the roof theres a gap
They wouldnt have the budget for anything pro its a lo budget student film.
It was a rental car they couldnt cut into/modify and weld the interior.
It looks like they cut the metal cage from a dog crate, in the video its just held with a screw and flat washer.
This would have been part of Tommy lee wallaces job as props department.
So thats why when I read him saying that in an interview I believe it
Finding paper work like that is basically impossible. I’m sure people over the years must of asked JC n TLW over the years about the wagon trying to locate it. I contacted the owner but he didn’t give me enough courtesy to answer back multiple times. More of the rich get richer bs…This is the type of guy though who has the resources to track down cars like this. It would of been great if one of us found it. Have more info and will share in future.
