Chase from 1978 Original Movie - NEW TOPIC

Hello, I’m new to the forum. I’m a huge Halloween fan and have been following the forum for a week. This will be my first post. I’m sure I’ll learn a lot from you expert Halloween enthusiasts over time.

In the final chase scene in Halloween 1978, when Laurie leaves the house, Michael doesn’t immediately chase her. Laurie, screaming and confused about where to run, approaches a house asking for help, and Michael isn’t in pursuit. Then, giving up on the house, she heads towards the Doyle’s house, and as she checks her pockets for keys at the door, Michael appears on screen. In fact, when Michael first appears, he slowly walks past the house, approaching Laurie. The camera pans to Laurie, and then back to Michael, who is trying to cross the street very quickly. I don’t think anyone missed this detail. While Laurie was running from Michael all this time, where was Michael and what was he doing? I don’t know if any threads have been opened about this, but I just wanted to ask because I’m curious and want to hear your valuable opinions. Thank you in advance for your answers.

I like to think he was waiting to see if anyone was going to help her. Remember he put a rake on the kitchen doors so she wouldn’t escape the Wallace house. He didn’t plan for her to run outside screaming and for all he knows everyone on the street is about to turn on their lights and step out to see what the commotion is. When he sees that no one is coming to help her he continues pursuit.

He had to use the bathroom

Wait! Is he joking, or did Nick seriously use the bathroom? So why did they add the part where he’s late? He could have just chased Laurie directly, and it wouldn’t have looked out of place at all.

I’m not quite sure you understand how movies work my dude! :joy::sign_of_the_horns:
