Chris Durand's performance is pretty close to Nick Castle's performance.

Besides his eyes being shown. Out of all the actors who played Michael, Chris Durand is one of the few who came close to the way Nick Castle moved, and walked.

Their performances are pretty similar. That’s why he was offered to return for 2018, before he declined.

He does great, but to me his arms moved slightly too much, other than that gripe, he really nailed it, if anything that walk in your example reminds me of when Michael was putting the knife in his other hand after laurie fell down the stairs, I can see why he was offered that return

He and Brad Loree did a great job, Chris had to wear shitty masks though which ruined it, also the terrible lighting, Brad just got screwed by the film execution for story, he had a much better mask and lighting to work with

I think he does a pretty good job of mimicking Nick Castle’s walk, but I think he sort of over does it to the point of almost looking silly, in my opinion. If he had refined it a bit more by making the movements a little less exaggerated, I feel like he would have had it.

You have a good point. Here’s a moment of him walking in the opening. His moments are a lot more toned down in this scene.

I… honestly don’t know what to think about Chris Durand. Maybe it’s the eyes, but Chris Durand and JJC both get the mannerisms of The Shape down pat. I just can’t unsee the bug eyes from Durand’s portrayal of Myers.

This and the horrid masks are why it’s hard for me to get into Chris’s take on Myers, he needs to be given a proper mask to wear, we saw JJC in a Creep mask, I wonder how Chris would look in a Creep or Psycho mask, or even a I.D and KH/DW, also Jimmy’s 10/31 or Flashback mask

Watch his feet, they stick out like he’s walking like a duck. For me, Brad Loree was better as Myers!

Yep, James Jude Courtney looked really good in the mask. I wish some of the movies would use this mask.

There’s a level of fluidity in his movements that works really well with the character. The way he moves with every movement just happening feels both very ethereal and deliberate. Michael moves like a man who’s already planned every step out in his head. He sees the whole picture, every possible scenario, and then reacts within the moment. There’s very few things a victim can do that will surprise him.

If it wasn’t such a shit thing with licensing crap, I mean come on, it’s not even Shatners face, it’s Michaels mask, so they should be able to use that look

It’s such a haunting look. It’s unfortunate they only used it for costume fittings.

Yea, I actually used to hate Chris’s performance in H20. But I rewatched both, and thought “Wait a minute” and then analyzed them both very closely once again. I now think Durand is actually the second best after Castle, LOL. The scene close to the end where he’s walking down the hallway, to me his walk there is a dead ringer to how he chases Laurie across the street in 78. Not to mention that in general, he is quick, and fluid in his movements. Castle was the same. I believe the reason that many (including myself in the past) aren’t fans of Durand’s performance is that the Dick Warlock version of Michael has become the most famous for all intents and purposes, and every actor after him before ‘98 copied the Warlock movements and mannerisms. Very stiff and robotic. I know many like it but it’s personally not for me. I prefer the swift and smoother “gliding” movements of both Nick Castle and Chris Durand. Chris, I’m sorry!
