Chris Nelson Screen used mask at Crypticon KC!

I met James Jude Courtney and Chris Nelson at Crypticon KC this weekend. They were both super nice guys who signed my 2018 mask. Chris Nelson had something with him that he let me get a picture with and a few pictures of. Ladies and gentlemen, close up pics of the Screen used 2018 mask. I’ve got to say it is a LOT smaller than a TOTS.

 So fuckin cool

Pretty cool!! Wonder why the mask is smaller than tots. I thought they used the same molds

Cool indeed!

Its because tots copied the mold

why the need for velcro?

I might be wrong, but I think they said there was Velcro on the collar of the coveralls as well. This was basically meant to keep the collar up and mask in place, I think.

So awesome! Thanks for sharing these awesome shots!

:myers: Just to clarify for everyone this is the mask fest mask and NOT a screen used. The lines that extend on the right side of the face is the tell on that mask. Looks great for sure but not what we see on screen :drinkers: If you ask Chris he will tell you it was made as an extra and not used on the film.

Just to clarify for everyone I asked him if that was a screen used mask and he said yes.

It was a back up - show me the screen capture that matches it lol trust me I thought it was last year when it unveiled too :drinkers: This is screen used as well as someone just made a thread with more screen used masks if you wanna take a look  I bet it was awesome to see in person

Right but I am saying I specifically asked Chris Nelson if it was a screen used copy. One of you two must be mistaken about what that mask is and I don’t think it’s him.

Bro… Do I have to send you my screenshots from my conversation with Chris a few months ago to prove you wrong lol :drinkers: Send me a PM and I’ll show you :tonqe: :drinkers: It’s not a mask that’s used on screen which defines that term…what I showed you is indeed a screen captured mask. People get terminology confused sometimesI guess. The mask you took pics of is the mask fest mask and was made as a BACK UP… feel free to reach out

Show me whatever you want. I asked the man himself 24 hours ago if that was a screen used mask and he said yes. Again, I don’t think he was mistaken or trying to mislead me.

It is indeed the MaskFest mask and the mask that was on display at Mystic Museum and Monsterpalooza. Maybe it’s the mask that was shown in the box in the trunk or on the seat in the Police SUV. Either way who gives a shit… it’s a bad ass mask!

Thanks for sharing the photos!

We all know it wasn’t those scenes though - like I said When I asked many months ago (not 24 hours) I was told by the same person that it was a Back Up that was made in case anything happened to hero and was used in promotion at conventions. Either way using the term screen used should only be reserved for props that can be matched to the film. Thanks for sharing and it’s still an amazing work of art no matter what

I was there today too and met both of them as well, James signed my H2, and I had a long talk about the masks with Christopher. Here’s the 3 pics I have of it. I compared my mask to it in one pic, my paint job isn’t too bad but also is a bit far from accurate… it’s also smaller than the tots because Christopher told me the neck is too long on the tots pulls. He did confirm that it is the same mold tho for sure, as I’ve seen peeps say it isn’t. I was also lucky to see the inside of it, not wear it, but see the inside. He showed me the padding on the inside when the topic of changing the padding to give the illusion of the mask changing expression was brought up, it was very f-in cool! And if I ever repaint an H40, I have personal pics and info to work with.
