Chris Nelson speaks and shares pics on the new mask

Have any photos for us?

Reading this helps me realize even more how dedicated Chris was to making this mask look good, to look creepy and threatening, to capture the same feelings and chills the original mask gave you, and personally I think he nailed it. In my opinion it hasn’t looked this good since H2, and seeing it in action was even better, some scenes with Michael scared me more than I have been by a movie in a long time. (I’ll be honest, I do get scared a bit easier than most people.) I’m just so thankful that he cared enough to put the time and effort into making it as effective as it, thanks so much for sharing this article.

Plus I’m really digging that clean version too, I want that!

I do hope the studio and TOTS come to some sort of agreement as, even though it wasn’t in the film, enough photos have been released to get the masses talking about it. I love the clean version as much if not more than the finished mask. They really knocked it out of the park and to me this mask comes 2nd to the original converted Kirk

I think Vincent Van Dyke added the cracks…

Justin and Chris did a fantastic job on this. Made a lot of people happy.

Thanks for sharing, Brother K! I, like so many have already stated, would love to get one of those “clean” versions as well. It may not be as “Heroic” as some of our other favorites out there - but it’d sure compliment the TOTS 2018 mask nicely.

While I like the finishing painting on the damaged mask, I really prefer the look of the undamaged white mask from the pictures in the article. Would have enjoyed the movie more if we got that version.

Would love to see those clean masks made available. Justin did a fantastic job, and I’m surprised to see how involved he truly was. Seems he was entirely responsible for the form, the “shape” if you will. :myers:

A great job was done by all! The mask looks fantastic especially on screen. Justin’s fingerprints are all over that thing, not to diminish Chris and Vincent’s work but it really looks like a Nightowl piece. I hope the blu ray has a larger segment on the making of the mask I’d love to see more. Really cool to see that bottle of Streak 'N Tips in the workshop too!

We were so close to getting a clean near perfect replication of the 78 mask. I hate that they added all the wrinkles and lines.

Those clean versions look bad ass!!

ToddB

I also would like to see a clean version of these!

I love love love this mask.

Thank you. The photos are very helpful in making a dead eye prosthetic and rehauling the TOTS Mask that I unexpectedly got my hands on finally.:heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Haven’t been around the past couple of months, appreciate the link K! I love how all the artists collaborated. I wish I knew where the unconverted clean copies ended up. I love the direction they went with the aging but I’d love to get my hands on a copy before the aging process

The tots mask is from the master. I have seen some of them overhauled that look just like the hero.

Yes that’s common knowledge

Maybe we will get lucky and TOTS will strike a deal. I have a feeling in the next film there will be a police evidence flashback scene in which we fully see the clean mask but I’m hoping we get it readily available long before this. Those clean masks Mabry finished are absolute insanity. Strong Closet Monster meets Psycho vibes

I thought Chris finished them?
