im new to this site so i just wanted to post on here. all weekend ive been watching the classic halloween movies and i just have to say they are amazing. even though i love the classics, the rob zombie remakes are absouletly amazing.
No disrespect to anyone but IMO it’s classic Halloween by far trumps all of the others, the original Halloween 2 is the only other one that comes close to the feel of the original, suspense, tension and scare is what a Halloween movie is all about!
I love the classics and enjoy watching them over and over again, even though im not a H3 fan. But I am also a Rob Zombie fan and not only like his movies, except for the ending to House of 1000 corpses, i also like the reimagining he did for the first movie. The second one was really interesting and had some good view points, even though mommy wasnt necessary. Mainly its just the Michael Myers character and the over-all look i like than the movies themselves…
But you GOTTA respect the classics because if they were never made, RZ would’ve never reimagined it…
I am definitively a fan of the classics. H2 is my go to Halloween movie. I do like RZH1 too though. If Rob didn’t have so much sex and unnecessary gore in it I think it would have been right up to par with H1. RZH2 was completely ridiculous though. It made me hate Rob… and white horses…
The first two can’t be topped in my mind , but I still do really enjoy the RZ films.
Nothing will top the original but rzh1 is a killer movie.Didnt care to much for rzh2 but it wasnt horrible.I really like all the michael movies.I can sit down and watch any of them at any time with the exclusion of H3…
All of these films are awesome and a lot of fun to watch. But my favorites of the series will always be the originals 1-3 then RZ’s are second.
So if you want my opinion stick to the classics, RZH1 was somewhat bearable but RZH2 is absolute garbage and thank god he wont be making the H3 remake. If Akkad’s son wanted to give RZ freedom to do whatever he wanted to the franchise he should have waited for the Halloween 3 remake which would have made WAY MORE SENSE.
for some people no story would of cut it, u do a shot for shot remake your gonna get pooped on, you do somethings different but most the same…your gonna get pooped on…you do a completely diff movie cause you are told to do so by the people who are originally affiliated with it…your gonna get pooped on…
basically you cant listen to some people they arent open to change or accepting of it…RZ H2 made the most sense of most films iv seen character wise development wise…of course everyone would disagree an ill get pooped on for this^^ those films were all about reality…anyone who disagrees should read the horrorbid article on H2 im not even tryin to open that can my point is some will never be please, theyre so called ‘myers’ fans yet they never wanna see him return on the big screen again if it was up to them. and everyone agrees with eachother about rob shouldnt make it bla bla but if you were to be like ‘‘your right rob sucks what is your vision of halloween’’? i guarentee they would hate the vision presented or atleast have quite a few issues with it…
i loved the reinvisionments (not gonna call them remakes) and not sure if i would of done a thing different…the remake is just incredible…there is ONE thing i hated about robs halloween which is the scene in the kitchen…the excessive swearing and un easyness of that scene is almost un bearable i hated it, NO female would EVER put up with that an even if he was really like that i highly doubt it would be that excessive and this is coming from a person who did grow up in a somewhat un easy enviroment an that scene was too much.
other then that it was crazy for me when i first saw it…you go through his chronicles an delve into his mindset then u get sad for him then you flash to 15 years later and its like damn…thats the little kid…and what an amazing job tyler and daeg did by incooperating each other<< i will say a big peve in all movies for me is the sheer fact that family never look like each other haha…so now you got this guy he breaks out of the sanitarium an takes on the coveralls and its almost like a present when he gets the mask, the movie almost gives you a gift and its refreshing and keeps the movie going…he digs up the mask your like ohhhh thats how he got it back…its just a great time and i enjoyed it. OH and got to love the people that bash the RZs with RZ avatars 
personally the first one didnt show enough of myers for me, i love the mask and everything about the first one but i hated that i barely saw myers, but when Rob zombie took it i felt that is how it should of been instead of him just stalking them in a car
I would have to say as a film, without a doubt the original is the better of the two. Although, I absolutely love the imagery and overall grundgy style of the Zombie movies. My two biggest complaints about the Zombie films are that one, Laurie and her gang of friends kind of annoy me with all their constant swearing and just being overall unlikeable. And I really didn’t care for the whole white horse, ghost mom, bullshit from H2.
Love 'em both. I like Zombie’s H2 more than the remake, but all three are fine by me.
The og is the holy grail of horror. I love Halloween 2,3 and 4 as well. 5 and on suck imo and thank god RZ brought the Shape back to his menacing and evil roots. Rob made Michael scary again, and I think H2 is too brutal for some people. Its a flawed film, but its got a lot of good things going on as well. People like to trash it.
