Well if you do not have the money and someone else does then I think the person with the money gets the item. Easy rule there. If you get paid on Friday tell the seller you are interested, but I agree with Matt the seller should not be burdened with holding a mask when there are buyers ready to pay knocking at his door. JMO This obviously excludes transactions where the seller doesn’t mind doing it. A buyer should not get upset if a seller will not hold a mask.
I think holding a mask for a buyer is fine- as long as they don’t mind putting down a small non-refundable deposit. If they’re serious about buying the mask then there should be no problem with that.
BAM! Agree 100% on this statement. I don’t understand it’s so hard to just put the pics in the classified ad. I almost lose interest in these ads 100% of the time.
a just word ad will draw out those specific buyers that know exactly what piece you have and you eliminate excessive semi -interested inquiries.then you can put up a pic if you have more than one interested parties.it works for me a little better like this.
I think everyone has made some great points. Communication is the best course of action; just let the seller know so they can act on other offers if you don’t want it. I agree as well that you need pics to help sell your mask. The less steps as possible for the buyer to make a decision will work to your advantage.
I do understand the reasoning for asking people to email them… First, some people have no clue how to use a hosting service, nor do they care to learn. Also, you have limited PM’s that you can receive here before having to delete them. It can be quite frustrating. I’d rather handle business transactions directly through email (unlimited) so down the road a few weeks later I don’t have to come back to MM.net, searching for an address, PM, pics, etc. only to find I deleted them just to free up my inbox space here. Now, I still think a seller should post pics in their FS thread but it’s smarter to handle things through email from that point on.
I agree. I’ve had that shit happen to me as well. If someone is willing to take the time to download photos and send them to someone. At least be courteous enough to reply even if your not interested. I’d love to name the asswipes who never replied to me but I’ll save them the embarrassment and keep it to myself.
I’ve PM’d a few guys here w/ questions about hair fibers, mask purchases, etc. and they NEVER responded. I mean after 2-3 PM’s that were marked ‘read’ by recipient. So I’m right there w/ ya… no clue why some people just choose to ignore. I may not respond to a PM immediately… but the only way I’m ignoring anyone is if they push me to the limits and end up on my ‘foe’ list.
i guess a buyer should put in the classy’s asap but and this is a big BUT…if the price is to good to be true the buyer should know the guy needs the cash right away
Just my 4 cents
So why not just post a picture in the first place. Sometimes I think people just don’t want to take the time to do it. I agree that it should be a rule, if you post an ad you have to post a picture. Too many scammers out there for one reason, common courtesy for another.
I agree. The whole “not responding to a pm” is just plain rude, and shows zero class in my book. Especially when you can clearly see that they’ve indeed read the ones you’ve sent.
I personally wont hold a mask for someone unless they send me a deposit for it. In my opinion, that will make it worth holding. Have them send you like $100 deposit (or whatever deposit you want) as a gift through paypal so that they have to pay the fees. Then you are locked in and can consider it sold. Just an idea…
The only time that i have been caught without enough money was actually pretty recently. I didn’t think the seller wanted to part with the mask, so he asked me to shoot him an offer. He actually accepted the offer and I had to quickly come up with the cash. Luckily I was able to and we had a successful transaction but it was close to not happening and I would’ve felt like a deadbeat buyer.
As Hannibal Lecter once said, “rudeness is epidemic.”
I’ve had situations like these happen to me several times. I’ve responded to WTB ads with pics of what i had to offer, only to never hear back from the person who wanted to buy (even though my pm was read by the person). Fine, i can take a hint… they didn’t like what i had to offer. But in return for the discourtesy of not communicating with me, i’ll just ignore those people forever. They’re not worth my time.
AND… I’ve even received an “unsolicited” offer. Months ago, a dude, who i also wish i could name, pm’ed me saying he had a mask and had heard thru the grapevine that i was looking for that mask. He tells me he’ll sell it to me. I reply and say “how much you want?” I never heard from dude again WTF.
I assumed he had sold it, but now i see that this same dude has the same mask for sale on another site. WTF again. Too bad. Too bad for him, that is. Months ago, i would’ve paid him the amount he’s seeking right now on that other site, but my tastes and interests have changed and now there’s no way in hell i’d pay him that much. His loss, my gain!!
I agree! I think the classifieds section should be for people selling masks only.
We should have a want to buy (WTB) section as well so all of the people selling things dont get bumped down. I see people post a wtb ad and there is 5 threads int he classifieds for the mask they want. Take some time and look through the threads to see if the mask you want to buy is there…lol… All WTB ads should be deleted in my opinion.
WOW…You people are reading into this way too much…It’s real simple.

If you are the seller, just be specific in your demands.
If you are the buyer, make sure you make good on any & all promises made to the seller.
And anything in between, are the morons that ARE going to pull their stupid shit no matter what, but hey, when dealing with this many people, it’s gonna happen.
