Conned on ebay by jsldwight (Username: six)

Quick basics:

The auction I won: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110423584965\

The Seller (Dwight Brooks) said he’s a member on here, but must go by a different name and wouldnt tell me.

Anyway, the item is clearly titled as “THE PROTOTYPE” of Mr. Skinster by MMFX. The description says the same:
“This is the prototype which not only means that it is the first one made, it also means it has extra detail and attention payed to it!!!”

I asked in email if he was 100% positive and asked if it was signed. I got 2 reply’s, 1 in ebay mail: "yes its signed “‘mr skinister’ proto #1 -bob 08” and 1 regular email: “yes it is its signed i can show a pic of the inside”, but I never got a pic.

a few days later, I see another auction go up. Guess what? It’s for “THE PROTOTYPE” of the same mask, from a different seller. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! I asked both sellers what the deal was, there couldnt be two. The 2nd seller showed me a pic of the signed tag that clearly showed it was the “proto”, also signed by Bob, the 1st seller said the other was lying. The 2nd seller turned out to be a guy I’ve seen regularly on the nighowl forums, so right away I knew he was legit.

Well I got the first mask I won today and get this, it’s NOT signed whatsoever, anywhere.

Interesting note: he lives only 15 min or so away, so I really cant see this ending bad in my position because I will just go over there if I dont get my refund that I requested through paypal.

But I thought you all should beware. I’ve never had a bad transaction on ebay over the many years Ive been on there until this one.

Just to add:

The mask was folded and thrown bare into a box the size of a small encyclopedia. No protection for the mask whatsoever, just in a tiny box. The shipping was $5 and I was charged $15, lol.

So this was all around ugly.

I just can’t believe the fact that he lied. Im surprised he didnt forge the signature himself that he claimed was ont he inside.

I like this email I got from him regarding the other seller’s auction:

That’s not the prototype. If you’re part of the Michael-Myers.net
community you’l know that many people/scam artists who sell masks
claim that they are prototypes so they can raise the price, i
personally bought this proto from Bob when the mask came out about a
year ago.

I say pay him a visit and confront him face to face about this issue, of course in a nonviolent manner. I’m sure if you show up at his doorstep, things will go your way :sunglasses:

I updated the title. He is user “six”, and just listed this thread in the classifieds:

http://www.michael-myers.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52075\

in one thread he created he said he’s THIRTEEN, yet the auction states he needs to “provide for his family”

I already shipped the item back and waiting for full refund from paypal…

otherwise I’m going over there!

That is BS brother… :axe: Go over his house and get your refund

I’m pretty sure this kid is only 14 . I am also pretty sure he is a recaster . There is a person who posted in the projects and announcements with a company called shadow masks . The person who is running this I am pretty sure had some issues with this kid recasting his Subliminal versus corey mask . I wouldnt trust getting anything from him at all really . In my honest opinion this kid should be banned and I have no proof at the time but I have a feeling he is going to be the next Lorisio(French Kid) since he seems to be buddies with him anyway . Heck even when he was selling his TCM chainsaw I say he didnt have pics of it with the chain on it because the kid probley couldnt even figure out how to put it on . In my opinion someone should point this little fella out to the mods . He was also banned from youtube involving the issues with the shadow masks person .

PayPal credited me the refund today as this user had insufficient funds.

I was awarded the winner based on the fact he never replied to them, letting them know I shipped the item back. He was delaying as much as possible, seeing if he could get away with having his mask back and keeping my money.

He lists on the item description he needed money to support his family, but in a very next auction he won (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110426494831) he spent just about twice as much on another item.

PayPal insisted they would go after him and get the money he owes.

Since I made this thread, he has also received 2 more negative feedback’s on ebay.

Glad I didnt have to go over there and beat up some kid.
