This really sucks to Canadians like myself. I’ve bought something from the U.S., and it had the price of 100.00 on the box. Not only did I have to pay the customs charges (“duty” of $25) I had to pay Canadian Sales Taxes as well, another $15, not to mention the extra charges for shipping to Canada (an extra $12) A total of $152 for a $100 item. So that made the product not even worth it, and I never ordered from that U.S. company again.
Unfortunately, you may see a drop in sales from us “foreigners” unless there is some other way around this. :cry: :cry:

I think if I would have been a little more discreet I probably wouldn’t have had a problem. Unfortunately I sent 6 GIFTS at once.

I have been lucky not to run into this from my shipping on ebay but certainly will be making sure to be carefull from now on. Thanks for the heads up Sam and Scott.

Scott thanks very much for the warning considering the price you paid. It’s cool to see someone want others to not have to go through the same mistakes.

This is bad news. Customs charges suck. I often have to pay around $70 worth of customs charges on an average mask. It’s just another way of getting money out of people. I think it’s a total rip off.

I totally agree with you. Then people get upset with me because I have to put the real value on a box. I had someone give me negative feedback on ebay because he was charged the tariff in Germany.

My suggestion would be never send 6 “GIFTS” to different people in Canada all at the same time.

:laughing: Well, you’re not to blame, it’s the system as a whole. You have to mark it, otherwise you’ll be in trouble. Leaving negative feedback is rather harsh, but I guess some people can’t see both sides of the story. Unfortunately, I don’t think things are going to improve with regards to these charges, so it’s just a case of getting used to living with them and accepting them I think! :laughing: :unamused:

not related BUT had to vent… the shipping costs keep on going up too… and it’s hard to sell on ebay too now thanks to ebay wanting you to put free shipping in your auctions, way to many watchers if you charge shipping and if you say free shipping the buyers want even more of a deal… it sucks

US shipping is getting just as bad. I shipped a mask to CA from the East Coast and it showed up as $38??? The clerk even looked puzzled and put it on the scale and re-measured 3 times, each time getting that amount. She apologized and I said “oh well”. Then two days later I ship a box to Switzerland, same PO, $24???..ahahahhhhhhhh :imp:
